Being on the spectrum, most of us have some kind of interest that can at times take priority over other interests. Mine are fighting games: Street Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, the Vs. series, Guilty Gear, and so many more. I've entered a few tournies as well with moderate success and I hope to one day compete at EVO, the international fighting game tournament held in Las Vegas where even game developers gather to watch the fruits of their labor be explored by the world's finest players.

Anyone else play fighting games here? Have any fond memories of certain series?

My interests have changed over the years, but there was one point where fighting games interested me. (I swear everything on earth was an interest of mine at one point or another) I watched the arcade games like Mortal Kombat and Tekken, but I was too afraid to play them because I didn't want to die. I remember other ones like Killer Instinct and Neo-Geo something or other. The only fighting games I played are Dead or Alive 3 and Soul Calibur 2. I liked them both, although Soul Calibur 2 is better. In fact, it's one of my favorite games of all time.

I LOVE fighting games. It's one of my favorite genres. Unfortunately I'm not the best at them. I'm decent, but there are plenty of people who can beat me down pretty easily. I need to get Super Street Fighter IV, but I'm too poor at the moment.

I loved Fighting Vipers for the Sega Saturn, which I still have. I don't know why Sega decided to keep making more Virtua Fighter instead... FV was waaaay better.

There's always a bigger fish in the sea so I've got no illusions about my lack of skills, though I've won 4 different tournaments now (SFIV, SSFIV, SCIV, and Tekken 6). We just gotta practice up until we're better than what we were before!

Apparently SSFIV is going to be getting a DLC update with Arcade Edition (smart move by Capcom, not making it a disc game this time). Right now I'm playing MVC3 but I'll be sure to put SSFIV back in the PS3 once the DLC comes out.[/quote]

Soul Calibur 2 is a pretty solid game indeed so that's an understandable pick for all-time fave.

I wish Killer Instinct would get a revival: it seemed like such a popular game at the time of its release and I'm sure with the right marketing campaign it could be a big deal again.

Don't forget Super Smash Brothers. It's not a traditional fighting game, but it counts. (sort of)

Killer Instinct - Best. Fighting. Series. Ever. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, KOF and the Vs. games are preety good in their own ways, though. Personally, if there's fighting involved, I'll take a beat 'em up (Final Fight, Streets of Rage) over a one-one-one fighter any day.

I love fighting games but some of the most popular ones I don't like. SSF4 and Tekken to be precise.

Right now I'm on Blazblue: CS, MvC3, and SSBMelee

I have a LOT of fighting games though some even dating back to 95 and still in working condition. I play all three of my fighters competitively but I haven't won a tournament yet. The competition in my area is fierce and there are a lot of players, and many with a lot of years more experience than myself. Message me if you'd like to play some time, I'm on XBL.

I liked Killer Instinct because I could panic and button-mash. xD

As for Fighter games I like them, but I hate them more than I like them. It always seems to attract people that are never willing to teach me the game. I've moved a few times and people playing fighting games always are of the paradigm that I will learn through getting dominated by them. They never bother to explain the combo they just used, and even get offended for asking the time while we are all playing.
There is no way I can challenge you and catch the quick buttons you've been pressing in order to learn!

I did manage to get someone good at Street Fighter Third strike to start explaining things. That made Street Fighter third strike really fun, especially with the ability to parry.

I think the only reason I've won so many tournies is because the biggest yearly tourney in the area is a total joke. In my years competing I've met perhaps only two people out of dozens that were any good. The guy who I thrashed in the SSFIV tourney last fall now beats my butt six ways to Sunday in MVC3. I'm starting to think we might be better off gathering enough people in the area to form our own tourney.

I've loved fighting game since I was 6, but SFIV was the first fighting game I looked at scientifically, and now I've been interested in going back to all of the other old fighting games I played as a kid and teenager and look for new possibilities that I was blind to back then. Gundam Wing Endless Duel for SNES looks like it was years ahead of its time with all of the features that would later become staples in other games like Advancing Guard, OTG Shenanigans, Juggles, and EX moves.

I'm at a bit of a loss for words to describe how amazing this trailer is, so I'll just leave two:

GET. HYPE.

I also like fighting games. Specifically, I'm on SSBB (both vanilla and +). I resolve to get into (S)SFIV sometime, as it seems very exciting to play.

I still play in Brawl tournaments but I can't deal with Vanilla Brawl, it's just so incredibly bad. Brawl Minus is one of the better mods and I really want to try the full version of Project M.

I've been working on MvC3 a lot lately and I wish X-Factor would die in a fire. Additionally just a few characters are ridiculous but for the most part it's still really fun.

Soul Calibur II and Tekken Tag fan here. I've played most of the rest of them but nobody makes them like Namco.

Hell yes! Street Fighter vs. Tekken! I so want that. I haven't played fighting games in a long time, but when I was little I played Tekken 3 a toooon and loved that game. I hope Eddy is in this game, he was my favorite character, and made me like capoeira. 8)

I used to love Mortal Kombat Trilogy, but Super Smash Bros. Brawl is definitely the best fighting game ever. I'm also currently playing WWE All Stars. Allow me to quote Freddy Mercury: "I'm having such a good time, I'm having a ball".

Bushido Blade and Primal Rage were great fighting games, too.
