The DS had very few games for the first year or so. Couple of movie-based side-scrollers and below-par puzzle games here and there. Soon, it'll all pick up. I'm getting my 3DS in a few weeks, and I can hold out until all the good games come out. The only problem is the battery life. It lasts around 2 hours with the 3D on. When the 3D is off, it lasts about 5. Compare that to the DS's 12-15 depending upon iteration. I'll still keep my DS to play older games when my 3DS fries. I was going to keep my DS to play GBA games anyways just like how I kept my GB SP for Gameboy games. Emus are fine, but I like being able to bring my GBA/GBC games with me.

I have my 3DS it is amazing. Its lightweight, the 3DS weigh the about same as a psp 3000.
The camera is great you can take 3D picture.
Face Raiders is fun, I thought it would be lame it's not.
The AR cards and AR games a really great feature, the games are fun. The games pop out at you.
It takes awhile to get use to the 3D affects. It can give you headaches if you watch others play or have to close to your eyes.
The 3D slider is good so you can adjust to your liking.
The real negative is the battery life.

I plan on getting Kid Icarus when it comes out in June.
The have 6- 8 good games comming out on June 2
Super Monkey Ball
Animal Crossing
Mario Kart
Legand Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Star Fox
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overlocked
Dream Trigger

I'm a mario fan. I only ever play mario platforming games so I have a limited selection of games to choose from. But, I'm eager for Paper Mario 3DS (because I love the series), the DS backwards compatibility, and the gb virtual console, like Super Mario Advance 4 for gba virtual console when it comes out. I cannot wait!

Question: What games (besides OoT(... again)) are y'all most excited about?

OoT, Mario Kart, Star Fox, Pilotwings, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, two Resident Evil games...I forget what else was coming out...

I'd really like to try Steel Diver. I liked the original DS demo but I don't know if it'd be worth a $40 price tag...and since it's a Nintendo game, it'll likely never drop in price =/

Maybe Dead or Alive. Maybe Rayman 3D if they add enough new stuff to make it worthwhile (I already have Rayman 2 on the Dreamcast).

Also excited about the VC. My only DS is the original fat model, so I can't even play the new Shantae =(

Probably not. The types of games I play on my DS tend to be the kind of games that wouldn't really benefit as much from 3d graphics (low tech puzzle games and older RPGs) - and the price is quite high. I do admit I want to try one of them out to see how good the effect is. Most 3d anything end up giving me slight headaches after about an hour, if it weren't for that and the price I'd probably get one. Anyone tried it out and have impressions of what it's like?

The 3DS can take that same function sometime soon, thanks to the 3D Virtual Console.

I'll probably get one sooner or later, but I'd prioritize the NGP for two reasons -
1). Dual analogue sticks
2). PS3/Xbox 360 equivalent performance.

Having something like... BF:BC2 or CoD:BO on the move would be awesome beyond words. But, since I love the video games, I'd try to get both just to have access to the largest possible game library, and the 3DS doesn't look so bad from the previews.

I want one so bad. Sadly, I can't really afford it right now.

I got a 3DS and Street Fighter IV (the only good game I saw for it). The 3D effects are cool, it's better than I thought it would be.

I can already tell you that I will not get the 3DS right away, I'm perfectly fine with my DS right now and I will likely wait until maybe the next main series of Pokemon games comes out on it. Those games are pretty much my primary motivators. Besides, there might be a new design similar to that of the DS lite and DSi that will come out.

I have one now, and out of all the games I've played, Samurai Warriors Chronicles is arguably the best. This coming from someone who never really cared much for Koei's Dynasty/Samurai Warriors series. The ability to switch between major characters ingame really enhances the game experience. And the levels aren't too large that running around them to save one guy proves impossible.
