Never bought a Kinect as they are really expensive, there aren't any good mature games and if you don't have a pretty big room for it, apparently there can be issues. But watching the trailers for 'Child of Eden' on 360 make the Kinect sensor look amazing.

So my question is; would you buy a Kinect just to play 'Child of Eden' with it?

The game will be out later in the year with the PS Move, but I'm not sure that looks as much fun as the Kinect, although there are more good games to play with the Move than with the Kinect in general.

I am going to wait and get it on the PS move.

No. I wouldn't buy a Kinect either. I've played on one in a shop and it's not very good. It overheats very
quickly and you need to take a rest every 10 minutes. I'd buy a Wii if you want a good console with motion
controls.

When they announced Kinect, Child of Eden was the game I was most interested in. I can't afford a Kinect, but if I could, I would get it just for Child of Eden.

I liked Rez alright, but not enough to buy a console for the sequel.

After watching this trailer, I'm going to say I would not want to play it using the Kinect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY1r9DXZCZU

Learn from my mistake: don't buy a Kinect just for one game and one game alone. I made that mistake with Yoostar. It's a great concept for a game, but I barely have enough room to play it and the lighting sucks. I still play it, but only sparingly. Looking back, I definitely would've spent my money elsewhere.

It's sort of an evolution of games that Sega's been doing for a while. It started off with Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom (I think?), and then Space Harrier, and continued with games like Panzer Dragoon and the unreleased Geist Force.

Rez took away Panzer Dragoon's auto-fire attack and only has the lock-on system, which is timed to match and enhance the music, but it looks like this sequel added it back in. Also, Rez doesn't let you move your character around like you could in the other games.

so it's a rythmn game i guess, i've already got audiosurf and beat hazard off of steam. or is it a combo game pack? because that video that was linked looked like a winamp visualization. also looked painful to the eyes, and i have enough eye troubles as is.

No.

You hold the fire button, then you move your cursor over the enemy, and it'll lock onto it. As soon as you let go of the fire button, you'll fire missiles at each of them, and the explosions are timed to the music, so they sound like beats. The Space Invaders Extreme games also had music-timed firing.

No. That's just what the game looks like.

Here's a video of the first level of the first game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwWWkgx2Stc

For comparison, here's the first level of Panzer Dragoon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sl7PiM_AuA

so it's a shooter\music type game? i don't even know what genre i would put it under. i never played any of the games it emulates, but still doesn't look like anything i would like.

if i'm going to be shooting and killing anything there has to be blood involved or something to that effect.

Really? Child of Eden?

If anything, I would by a Kinect strictly for Sonic Free Riders.

It's basically Star Fox mixed with psychedelia. Groovy. 8) I wouldn't buy Kinect JUST for Child of Eden, but if other good games ever get released, Child of Eden would be a game I would get.
