Who likes fighting games?

My faveorites are King of fighters and Dragonball z
but mostly I play alot of King of fighters XI (not sure but think XI stand for 9)

Who likes classic arcade style fighting games better then the newer 3D versions?

I actually quite enjoy fighting games - I'd say I'm more into new school 3d fighters such as DoA and most anime fighting games than old school such as Street Fighter.

I actually enjoyed the DBZ games up until after Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - I'm getting a little fed up with the repetitiveness.

Although a couple of other titles are getting stale for me - I'm finding Tekken to be too slow in it's gameplay - if it picked the speed up and give it more flow I'd be more interested. Then also Soul Calibur, I found that the 'Story' modes are getting worse and worse. I remember the first Soul Calibur, each players story was full of really impressive artwork, and it was more immersive. In SC V it was nothing more than a few menus for the tower mode and generic in-game cutscenes besides the paragraphs you had to read for the story.

I like Street Fighter (past 1, obviously), Marvel vs. Capcom, Super Smash Bros (especially Brawl), and DBZ Budokai 3.

I totally agree, I must admit that I was thinking that fighting games should have a character creation system shortly before Namco announce Soul Calibur would have one - it was really fresh when it first came out, although I wish they'd expand on it now, it's getting really old as the characters just feel really generic as they all have the same build. It'd be nice to create a range of characters with different body types/heights.

yeah but i'm happy with at least getting to make my own characters and see them somewhere else then just in my head. but yeah different bodies would be cool, i'd like some cyborg or android types. i'm a tech nut ^^; maybe some other pieces besides armor like in broken destiny, wings, tails, etc. but that would probably be a very complex project i think.

Hehe well that'd make sense why you'd want that X3 although Soul Calibur haven't really gone into the realm of tech as it's more fantasy based. But even more athletic/skinny body types couldn't be too much to ask for in the least as it would certainly make players seem a lot more varied. Oh well, beggers can't be choosers I guess! :P I'm not quite sure if I'm going to be going after SCVI after playing 5 - surely they can't make the main modes any worse... could they?

I'm terrible at them, but I love fighting games and actually have a home-made arcade controller box! Just the box, though; I'm still waiting for a time when I can spend a lot of money to buy the actual joystick and buttons. My favorites are BlazBlue, Street Fighter, Tekken, and Super Smash Bros, but I plan to buy a King of Fighters game in the future. Any recommendations? I also prefer prefer classic, 2D fighting games over 3D fighting games, but I like both the old and new. And I clearly like 3D fighters too, as I have listed Tekken, so bear in mind that its a preference for 2D fighters, but I don't dislike 3D fighters! :)

In Street Fighter, I mainly play Dudley and Ryu (the second of whom, happens to be voiced by Kyle "Kamina" Hebert, at least in IV) and I own SSFII:THDR (Is that the correct abbreviation?) and SSFIV.

I also own Tekken 6, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift (and its 3DS successor). I used to own Soulcalibur IV.

Fighting is my favorite genre besides RPGs. My second game ever was the very first Street Fighter game.

King of Fighters XI is actually the eleventh game. SNK stopped putting the year in the title (previous KoF games were numbered by year) due to the games taking longer to make.

My favorite fighting series are:

Street Fighter
Capcom vs. SNK
Marvel vs. Capcom
Fatal Fury
Samurai Shodown
Darkstalkers
Guilty Gear
Virtua Fighter
Tekken
Rival Schools

I enjoy Street Fighter 2 but can't really get into SSF4. I think it's just the art style that offputs it for me.

Though, the fighting games I do enjoy most are the Tekken and Soul Calibur series. Aesthetically, they're more realistic while retaining the cartoon/comic book feel.

I also like the WWE games (or I enjoyed Here Comes the Pain and SVR)

I was a fan of fighting games when I was younger. Was really into Street Fighter II and I believe I was only 7 when Mortal Kombat first came out. Both of those games were on my top list for years. I've recently gotten back into them. I love SSF4:AE and the new Mortal Kombat. I do enjoy the MvC series, but I get confused with all the stuff going on onscreen. I've also played some BB:CS and Tekken, but I'm bad at them. I'd really like to try the new KoF game and SFxTekken when it comes out.

Guilty Gear X2 is my favorite, the soundtrack is amazing and the characters have pretty cool powers, every character is so different with how they play but I think the most amazing part of the game is the soundtrack which brings this entire game to life.

Fighting games aren't my favourite, but I do enjoy playing Tekken sometimes.
