I was a late PS1 gamer so I didn't really play on it a lot and I did not own the console.

ctr crash team racing?

Might have been actually, wish I could remember it better though. All I know is that I missed out on a lot of classics.

there was crash nitro kart also but ctr is older. yeah i missed out on some of them as well. me and my bro got our game systems about a year before the ps2 and gamecube got released, so we missed alot of the older games we caught the ones at the tail end of ps1 gen era.

but alot of these classics are still a ton of fun, and it's worth it to dust them off every now and then. :)

I like Road Rash, but I like Road Rash Jailbreak a lot better. I like the two player mode where you and to team up with a buddy where he has to lean with you in a sidecar. One time we whacked the bad guys so bad, I knocked my buddy off (he was driving) do I crashed into a tree. I also like Final Fantasies 7 and 8 too.

my bro was playing that at some point, it was a long time ago, i don't remember much but i do remember he got this crazy fast bike that was like greased lightning. he would go into a race and most of the time win. he also managed to wreak 8+ times in each race. i remember him constantly flying off the handle bars every few seconds.

that was way back when though.

OH GOD THE PS1!
It was actually my first ever gaming console. I remember, I'd play it back when I was 3 and I'd lose all the time because I had no idea what to do. Ah, good times...

those are some good old titles i wanted to get twisted metal, but my mom thought it was weird and wouldn't let me get it. i was a kid at the time.

i downloaded dino crisis but i have been spoiled by newer game controls. i'm used to the character walks in the direction the analog stick is pointing. i could hardly walk around in the game without getting disorientated.

oh well.

I remember Raymon
Hot wheels Turbo Racing
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
I also remember all the Spyro games
Sometimes I wish I could play Crash and Spyro again. I don't care about graphics. If it's fun and has a long lasting fanbase then it's a good game.

Driver 2, Chocobo's Dungeon 2, Jersey Devil (a very obscure 3D platformer by Konami), Metal Gear Solid,Brave Fencer Musashi, Threads of Fate, Valkyrie Profile, the Walt Disney platformers (The Emperor's New Groove and Atlantis: The Lost Empire were particularly good, despite being licensed games) and, most of all, Megaman Legends 2.

Your kidding right? Me and my cousin LOVED playing Twisted Metal together when we were like 3 years old!

Games I remember, aside from a few c-rated games, would be Spyro, Croc, Ape Escape, Resident Evil 2, kind of Crash, Parappa the Rapper, Driver, Medal of Honor, Frogger 2, and Grand Theft Auto. I also had Oddworld, Metal Gear Solid, and Tomb Raider, but they were advanced, difficult, and required critical thinking skills that I was too young to have, so I didn't do too good on them.

My family had consoles before the PS1 (namely, a Mega-Drive/Genesis and my dad's commodore) but that generation is the one I have most nostalgia for. There was plenty of experimentation, different developers attempted different methods of adapting games to 3D. Mario 64 and Spyro pretty much set the template for future platformers but then there were games like Crash Bandicoot which tried something totally different. Metal Gear Solid popularised the 3D stealth genre (although Tenchu came out earlier according to Wikipedia) and Tomb Raider did things with environmental puzzles and exploration that couldn't have been done before. I also have a lot of personal nostalgia for the Japanese RPGs that stole my time back then, games like FF7, Suikoden and Grandia.
