SWTOR

It is my first mmo and I love it.

It's strange. You think I would want to play by myself and do my own thing, but that's not the case at all. I am a very active community member. I do a lot of things on my own, but I also seek out people to do heroic missions with.

If anyone wants to find me, I'm on empress teta and I just got to lvl 33. Woohoo!

I put about 2 years into one called runes of magic. free to play, first mmo etc

I would not recommend getting into the game now, it's been on a steady downhill slope over the last year and a bit. The devs appear to have learnt from some of their mistakes, but are still screwing up majorly in other areas. However it is fairly successful and the game still has at least another year of life in it.

EVE seems excellent if I had the time and patience for it, I get to hear all about it from the bf and as others have said they really do appear to care about their customers, and only implement good changes

I've had an on and off relationship with Everquest back since it was released now 13 years ago (yeesh!)
Played for first few years then since "quiting" in ~2001 I've gone back every 2-3 years and played for 2-3 months. Get that urge to see what's going on and where the game is at. But unfortunately I don't have the attention span anymore for those kinds of games. Catches my interest and for the first week or 2 I'll play a ton every free moment then quickly fades to every so often down to no interest what so ever after a few months. Then few years later get that urge again and it's rinse and repeat.

Never tried WoW because I know it'd be the same thing. I did however try Rift because of peer pressure from bunch of old friends and it was the same thing, played for few months and that was it.

And I suck too bad at FPS games to venture into the online world with them =P. I've picked up a few over the years and enjoy the single player cause they are always short and can finish them before the temporarly few weeks of interest passes but that's 'bout it.

p.s.
should mention that the relationship is currently on :D

They are putting in a semi-free-to-play model that goes live tomorrow so of course they sent out emails and such a month back and of course it worked, hadnt played in almost 2 years so why not give it another go. Been playing for just about a month now and already know it's gonna only last a few more weeks at most hehe. (and if you have played don't get too excited about the free to play thing, it's actually not going free to play in any way, shape, or form. What it is is just a more extended and involved trial of the game, similar to the way some of the other games have started the whole "free to 20" - EQ is doing a free to 90 with just a massive boat-load of restrictions like almost all gear is unusable and class restrictions on what you can create etc etc)

None, I tried Maplestory for like 5-10 minutes in like middle school, didn't like it, and no MMOs ever since. My friends tell me to play, but I don't really want to mix socializing and video games really. When I had Xbox Live, I'd play Forza 2 and 3 online, but that's about it, even then players online were either dicks who'd crash/run me off the road, or vastly better than me, so it wasn't too fun.

That's why I don't play video games with people over the internet. I suck at everything that's online, and don't want to waste time trying to get better. Also, I've heard enough stories about how players treat each other over the head set. I hate that kind of abusive trash talk, and I know I couldn't handle it. Sigh... no MMOs for me, although I know I would have been an avid player when I was younger. The immersive environment of WOW looks like it could be awesome.

I play runescape, and I'd go as far to say as my best friends are on there. Most don't know I'm aspie, but it's so easy to socialise compared to face to face, I think I'm slightly addicted to it...
If you think about it, it's silly because you do the same thing quite a lt over and over, wether you pay for it or not (I don't) but I play most days, he he. I've never played any other MMOs though, a good friend introduced me to runescape, but MMOs are wuite daunting to get to know in the beginning, from what I can tell.

I started playing WoW in late BC, but I quit shortly after patch 4.2 dropped...long story short, the game just seemed to lack the passion that drew me to it in the first place (I also dislike "fire" themes). I may give the next expansion a chance, but I'd like to wait and be sure that they don't drop some of the cool-looking items/features before it launches.

I'm currently playing Rift, but in my eyes it seems to have the same problem WoW had when I quit--no passion. I'll probably quit that game as well.

EverQuest because of the fact it has so many playable races especially the iksar which are lizard people.

I'm not playing any at the moment but I've played WoW for a couple years, Rift for a little while, and moved to SWTOR but have since quit.

Star Wars The Old Republic, Empire side, Shadowlands server.

I think this game is amazing. i love the voice acting, the story, the play control, the options you have to level (there are several), the fact that you can easily level 1-50 solo. Gear is not hard to come by and "raid gear" is even easy to get. you don't need special keys or unlocks to raid.

There are alot of people complaining about this game and i just don't see why. well i do see why. kids today are just spoiled. they want "X" grapics, and unrealistic content in video games. I grew up on Atari 2600, NES, Myst, ect. Games today are amazing. so much better than what some of us grew up on. Kids today who's first console was an Xbox or PS2, Wii, you guys are spoiled.

it's like complaining about how gas is $4.00 a gallon. man it wasn't that long ago you needed a covered wagon and team of horses to go 20 miles. and it probably took 3 days.

You are living in the greatest time in the history of our planet. and it gets better everyday. :D
