I can play anything from the original NES onward. I'm a hardcore gamer. The reason older (NES, in particular) games were so hard was because they were so short. Think about it. These days you have games that can give you 20+ hours of playtime. And they aren't all that difficult, although fun to play. That's because of storylines and extras. Older games didn't have much (if anything) in the way of storylines. So the only way to keep you playing, and to make sure you got your money's worth from the game, was to make it insanely difficult to finish. There were games that I spent weeks or months on, but when I mastered them I could play through in a couple hours. Now when I play games, I'll spend months on them, but it's not because they are too difficult. It's because I'm blasting through a longer, and more involved, storyline. I could go on and on about this (special interest), but I'll stop here.
