Hi everyone,

The playtest for the new release of Dungeons and Dragons has begun, I downloaded the playtest package to see how D&D further develops.

You can download it here:
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/DnDNext.aspx

Anyone who is testing this?

Judicial stuff, product is still in development.

You need to make an account, it's free of charge.
After following instructions in the e-mails you have the package.

I'm aiming to run a playtest, once I find players who are willing to make the playtest reports back.

As for why, Wizards of the Coast are a business, and the main profit in RPGs, such as it is, is associated with the sale of the core books of a new edition.

While I'm mostly happy with 4th ed, which is clear and has less need for player telepathy than any previous version of the game, the new edition looks from the initial material to be simpler and may be more appropriate for convention play and more casual games and players.
