I ran across it about two weeks ago, and it seems ridiculously overcomplex; and incredibly insane.

"dwarf fortress is autism in a game" -a guy named rick

Picked that up from someone's Signature. (http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=113648.0 bottom of the page)

So, yeah.

WHO WANTS IN?

( I have no guarantees for the accuracy of that quote)

I play this. Absolutely excellent game. Though it has the learning curve from hell.

It can take a looooooooooong time to learn this game. But it's so completely worth it.

For any interested: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL06686270DA5FF439

That be a link to a set of video tutorials on the game; the guy that makes these is very, very good at making such things, and I always find him very easy to listen to. Does a great job explaining even the more confusing aspect. It's how I learned to play it myself.

I played it until I discovered Gnomoria (inspired by DF and has isometric graphics) and Towns.
