I don't have much free time, but I'm down for doing so when I do.

Sounds good. I'm a PC gamer, too. Not a fan of consoles, really.

I do TF2, Minecraft, and DDO (Dungeons and Dragons Online).

TF2: prior posts have already covered it

Minecraft: A personal favorite, and I agree that vanilla would be the best way to handle it. I would say to keep a blacklist in reserve just in case.

DDO: It's about an 8GB download, but I love it. You can play for free and earn points to unlock extras, pay for points, or do a monthly fee for maximum unlocking. I've dabbled with enough that I can handle several classes to fill multiple roles and I'm always reccomending it to people.

Team Fortress 2 is semi-lag friendly (high ping wont make much difference to the gameplay) so people from long distance can play together without any big problems, at least it was last time I checked.

Sounds like a great idea! I play Minecraft, and Guild Wars 2, and I would play TF2 except if I downloaded it it would take up half my hard drive, and my computer wouldn't really be able to run it anyway. I'd host the Minecraft server, but my computer couldn't handle all the traffic :(

Oh man, it's been years since I played Anarchy Online. Is there anyone else left on the servers?

Shameless double post, but I just had another idea.

Would anyone else besides me be interested in a Dungeons & Dragons community game night, in addition to (or maybe instead of) a computer game night? All we'd need are, like, Skype and the basic D&D materials to start off with; no one would have to install any resource-intensive programs or anything; just have an internet connection, Skype and, preferably, a working microphone.

Whadda y'all think? That something some of you would be interested in, or would that be 'just too out there'?
