Yes, the first FPS I ever played was Wolfenstein 3D. There was also another game with a similar concept and very similar gameplay, only it was about shooting aliens and mad biotechs in a Space station instead of Nazis and Gestapo in a castle. It was called Blake Stone and was developed by Apogee.

I'm not sure if I am correct, my first FPS game may have been James Bond: 007 Nightfire on PC. I remember playing no other shooter games before it, and I remember it being the first game that I played a deathmatch in against AI.

My first ever FPS was Doom. I remember being amazed at the first time I saw those 3D graphics, because it was like you were actually 'there.' This was in 1997, and the extent of previous games I had mainly seen were early Super Mario Brothers and a game called Joust.

does anyone remember 'corporation' on the megadrive/genesis?

I had the Atari ST version. I remember going to the shop and buying it for £10 with nothing but 1 and 2 pence pieces

Great atmosphere for such basic graphics. That green alien mutant thing used to creep me out when I walked around a corner and would see one approaching me

Doom, 1995 for the SNES. It was one of the games that used the FX chip.

STILL scares me!

South Park 64.

Beats the hell out of the PlayStation version. I only beat the game ONCE and by luck it is recorded.

Maybe have possibly been Golden eye for N64. either that or Turok 2 for the same console. I preferred Turok 2 over Goldeneye.

^^ Greetings AspergerGamer64. I believe that this was perhaps GoldenEye 007 (Nintendo 64) or Doom (PC).

Probably Battlezone (1980) a FPS tank shooter although IOremember one where you sit in a chair and flew a jet to shoot down other jets on a screen, this was at Sea World in 1976. As to computer, I'd say Ultima I when you went into the dungeons.

What was I thinking?? Of course, it'd be the vector-graphics Battlezone!!

In its day it was freakin' awesome!! !

This emulated experience doesn't do the original justice - the sound is all wrong and it's not real vector graphics.

I always loved the emphatic (but short) high score tune!

I'm new to gaming, so it was Halo Combat Evolved, Anniversary Edition. Learned some things about myself. At first when fighting with a group I would basically ignore the group and do my own thing. I soon realized the result was that the group all got killed and I had to finish the mission alone. That snapped me out of my egocentric view of things. :-)

I played Doom 1st, like i see a lot of people here :)

Next 1st person game after that I loved was......
Rise of the Triad (loved the shrooms, game gave me nightmares)
Then, Dark Forces (star wars 1st person shooter, inspired many dreams)
and I loved Duke Nukem. all around fun game to play.

Something just seems missing from all the new 1st person shooter games.
