I was just thinking about one of SR3's characters, Kinzie, I know technically she's supposed to be paranoid, but in at least one point in the game she seems to say something kind of like what a person with autism or Asperger's might say.

that would be when Kinze speaks to the Morningstar turned Saint Viola. the conversation makes me wonder of there could be a connection. surely the game developers did not intend this, but it sounds possible.

in case you missed what Kinzie says, it only happens when you have both her and Viola following you. basically she asks Viola to teach her how to wash her hair. because, apparently Viola takes good care of her hygiene and Kinzie does not.

Kind of reminds me how I generally don't do so well washing my hair. in fact I can't get rid of dandruff so I eventually gave up, now I just get it done at a hair salon or whatever you call that place.

P.S. I am a big fan of Saints Row and Grand theft Auto, I just happen to enjoy all the extra fun stuff in SR3 a lot more, can't wait for SR4!
As for GTA 4, I was really disappointed until I got the pc version and installed a huge amount of mods. GTA 5 looks pretty good, but I stopped playing most console games in favor of PC games.
So no GTA 5 on PC, then I won't waste my money on it. that, and, the Saints Row series is getting some good mod tools soon. I'm not a Modder but can't wait to see what people make.

I think that when this occurs the writers have no intention of trying to portray the character as being autistic, it is more like the voice actor has no connection with the written story and is just reading the lines; something some of us have no doubt experienced in real life. Playing 'Sniper Elite' ; the main character seems to exhibit signs of autism, in that he is detached from the events of the story and has no personal connection with any of the other characters.

:-) How about Tails / Miles Prower ?

He was non-verbal for years, seems to be a perpetual child personality-wise, he develops close relationships with a few select friends, is happy with his own company, has no apparent interest in romance/sex, and is something of a child prodigy when it comes to mechanics.

That's because he is a kid. I don't think any version of him exists where he's any older than 11, and in the games I've played, he's supposed to be 8, so of course he's a perpetual child, who has no interest in romance or sex. The other aspects of his personality that you mentioned could be a sign of some degree of aspergers though. He doesn't strike me as anywhere close to fully autistic, but it's quite possible that he's an aspie. I've never really thought about him that way, but you may be right, though it's kind of hard to make that call for a character who is a kid.

:-) Is he still supposed to be 8 years old ?
LOL, fair enough then.

Don't mind my comment - I was mainly just being silly.

:-) ... in a similar vein, how about the player-guy from Minecraft ?
He's totally non-verbal, off in his own world a lot of the time, has a fixation with mining and the construction of elaborate structures (which he has an astonishingly high level of aptitude for) , he has very little change of facial expression (if any) , he's not interested in romantic involvement or sexual relations, and he seems to have little interest in communicating with others (mainly communicating through punching or jumping up and down) or establishing friendships.

Ryu from Street Fighter has always been suspect in my eyes. Think about it:

- Has an obsessive narrow interest in fighting
- Hardly talks/ has poor social skills- watch the SF Anime movies
- has few friends (except Ken), spends most of his time alone
- Poor hygiene- unkempt hair, wears the same tattered karate gi all the time.

I've seen people say that about Aeron from Pandora's Tower, but I just never see AS in characters....except for Sheldon on Big Bang Theory and maybe Sherlock Holmes in the realm of TV.
