female gamer. i play pokemon games, okami, tales of xillia, smash bros., rock band, animal crossing, katamari, WOW, Perfect World, spore, puzzle games, etc. these are just my favorites currently. they change from month to month (except pokemon games and WOW. they're always near the top of my list). our board games take up most of a floor to ceiling shelf. i generally don't like the military games because i don't enjoy the graphics and i have trouble with the sounds. i don't know any phone games that i actually enjoy.

I've been playing video games ever since the ancient days of Atari. I had a very Asperger-y obsession with the Pac-Man games, and then when my bother and I got an NES for Christmas it was mainly Super Mario and other cartoony "hop and bop" games as I like to call them. Then it was Sonic on Sega Genesis. When I got the PS1 I made a gradual change from the hop and bop games to more simulation/role playing, and developed a deep obsession with Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. Gamecube got me obsessed again with Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Sims. Now most of the games I play are the Sims 2 and 3 on PC and some simulation or puzzle games on Facebook. Games where you spend most of your time collecting and creating and obsessing, :) I have no desire to play the gory, graphic, depressing, M-rated "hard-core" games that guys seem to love. I guess guys really do enjoy killing and blood and violence because of their natural primitive desire to hunt and dominate, there's too much of that in the real world already. :x I don't need to see another zombie game. Or a world war game. Or a game where people go online to form teams and "socialize", only to be trolled and insulted and cursed at for being a "noob", or worse, female. I don't play phone games. Having to own a cell phone is bad enough. :x

:-) I have been playing computer games since the pre-history days from before Atari 2600 (I started with those crappy LCD handheld games with only 2 or 3 buttons, which you used to get for £10)

I play all sorts of different computer games, and am especially fond of many RPGs.

My sister, who is about to turn 50 soon, is an avid MMORPG gamer.

I like to play video games. I was really obsessed with them when I was younger and was even nicknamed the Video Game Queen by my cousins back in the days of the Nintendo 64 . I don't play any social media or phone games at all, but I also don't play any online or computer games. My big genre when I was younger was 3D platformers, and since they are pretty much dead now (with a handful of exceptions), I don't really play video games as much as I used to, though I can still get very into them when I do find something that I like.

Anyway, for more current games, I like Mario games, Zelda games, Sonic games, Harvest Moon series, Bully, Animal Crossing, console Sims games, Red Dead Redemption, Assassins Creed series, Fable series, Pikmin and plenty more. I'm also really hoping that A Hat in Time will make it to the WiiU.

I have a huge list, so I won't bother, but my most recent favorite is Gran Turismo 5.
3 weeks left until GT6, and my racing box is almost complete!

I had a big obsession with video games when I was a teenager in the 90's (ya I am in my 30's now lol) and was really obsessed with Super Mario series, Mega Man series, Zelda series, Tetris, Ninja Gaiden, Battletoads, Double Dragon, StarFox, and many more games (spent HOURS trying to solve these games and the internet didn't exist back then so you had to figure out everything yourself). My favourite systems were NES and SNES and after that not as interested in N64, Gamecube Wii even though I have all of them.

Those two systems mentioned before have by far the most challenging games. And the best, in my opinion! Today's systems are more show than substance. Too many first person shooters and not much storyline.

I'm a guy, but I've known quite a few girl gamers. I've noticed that the survival horror genre seems to have a lot of female fans actually. :)

Reading this thread makes me all of a sudden not want to be single... why do I never find you lovely gaming ladies in real life?

Oh right, yeah...real life. What is that again?

Yep! I used to play on the pc until it broke, things like sims and atari classics and a series called petz when i was younger.. then minecraft and wow more recently, then I got xbox and love skyrim, oblivion, minecraft, assassins creed etc.. I used to play a bunch of gamecube games like pikmin and the original animal crossing, I also play stuff on nintendo ds, one of my all time favourite gaming series is pokemon, iv played all gens except 6, but also harvest moon and various other games :D I tend to like games that are more open world than story or goal based and if one really captures my imagination i can play it for hours and hours, i think my play time for my last save on skyrim was 500+ hours :O Dont really get on with iphone games tho, I just feel like they drain my battery, althoughhh I did play dawn of dragons for a bit :)

I like a great many things, generally fantasy RPG/strategy, military strategy/shooter/simulation, and zombie RPG/shooter. I also quite like Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and Grand Theft Auto.

Ooooh I just started playing GTA V and I am obsessed. But, the third protagonist grosses me out though.
