You can play all the dungeons and raids in WoW solo, the only problem is you have to overlevel them a fair bit, so the loot rewards won't be any use to you (unless they're bind on equip, and you have alts that can use them). In Mists of Pandaria they even added new trinkets available from rare mobs in the new areas, that would appear to be specifically designed to allow soloing of older raids, by giving you extra abilities you might need for certain bosses (eg. Terracotta Fragment gives you a 10 minute companion to tank for you on Razorgore, and Crate of Kidnapped Puppies will do enough melee hits to help you kill Viscidus).

And then if you have a ton of money to throw at the game, there's always multiboxing, which gets around the problem of loot being no use.

Or you can play Skyrim and not have monthly fee :)

incomplete poll

I only play board and card games, I despise computer/phone and TV or controller type based games

Er....

And it's an incomplete poll....how, exactly?

Its a topic related to MMOs, which are games on PC, with a poll also related to MMOs, about wether people play those, play normal multiplayer games, or single-player only.

At no point would it actually make sense whatsoever to bring board/card games into this mix.

After over 15 years of playing MMOs, I've almost given up on them. The only MMO I've been playing recently "Casually" is DCUO.

The only online game I tried was IL2 Sturmovik, as I have to go to work and run my own house, I didn't get to be as good as those who can spend a lot of time practicing, so I kept being shot down! So I don't bother with anything online now for that reason.

I've played some MMOs but not really a MMO player. I've tried WOW but couldn't really get into the game while the F2P Perfect World Entertainment games I have enjoyed. And miss playing since I'm not sure if they have made the games software to be compatible with MACs. Defiance and DCUO are games I enjoy playing on my PS3 while I've been enjoying TESO Beta on my MAC.

I am currently spending most of my time on EVE online. It's very player driven and the kind of game where everyone can be out to get you. Lots of spreadsheets and spaceships incarnate. PVP isn't encouraged, it's by default. Even the high security systems someone just has to lose their ship (probably cheaper) to gank you, or lose their ships with 20 of their closest friends. Fortunately you can join a corporation and do stuff that way. Probably 100 ways to make money in game too. Very open ended. My parents want me to stop because I spending all my time on it, but if I do, what will it leave me to think about?

I've played World of warcraft in the past but it got a bit boring after a year.

Has anybody here ever played The Secret World? I bought it a few months ago and I enjoy it greatly. It has a modern day setting with a strong supernatural presence and an emphasis on the presence of secret societies like the Illuminati. I play on an RP server so I get to treat it like a secondary life, which is nice because without my Animal Crossing I don't know what to do with myself. Most of my interaction with people for a while were just stalking random players and healing them which was probably really creepy because I dress like a more modern plague doctor, but in the end a lot of them really appreciated it and now they call me for help when they can't solo a mission.

I never was interested in playing online games but someone introduced me to Dead Frontier. You can be with a lot of players but don't have to talk at all if you wish. You loot around for food, money and weapons. You can do the daily missions or just hunt around for bosses to get their loot.

I'd play more MMOs if I could find people I actually enjoy playing them with. Plus, my desktop PC is ancient by today's standards, and can't even play he latest generation of games that don't run on Windows XP. I need a new PC, but don't have any money for it.

^ My computer is from 2006. It doesn't have a real video card so i experience a bit of lag now and then. Now I have a legitimate reason to upgrade :D
