As for me, I'm 40, and while I'm not constantly playing video games, on a typical day I do game for about an hour. Maybe there are better things I could be doing with my time as an adult, but its my way of de-stressing a bit.
Besides, conventional wisdom about how adults should spend their time has formed over decades and centuries when the people who were adults were not people who grew up with video games. The first such people are largely just now entering their 40's and 50's.
