Pokemon X, Y, or Z?

I'm thinking of getting Pokemon X, but I might just be smart and wait until Z comes out. What do you guys think?

Personally, I'd wait for Z.
They usually add some great extras to the "special edition".

How long til Z comes out?

The release of Pokemon Z is still more of a rumour than anything at this point; though it is a rumour that may very likely become a reality soon given the release of the latest Pokemon movie featuring Zygarde.

That said, I honestly wouldn't scoff at X and Y. I personally got both (for the sole reason of seeing what it would be like to have both released versions for a change) and they are incredibly enjoyable imo. You probably can find them at a discounted price now-a-days, especially with OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire having been the most recently released core games (which are very wonderfully done reboots as well, do grab one of those if you haven't).

In the end, the choice is up to you, but really X and Y are good games in of themselves. The only suggestion I'd give you is just to pick the one with the Legendary Pokemon you like the most if you can. That's what I generally do with choosing one or the other. As said before, Z has yet to be announced, so you may be waiting a long while.

X and Y are probably my least favorite Pokémon games. I hate how they made them so much easier and made such a bare-bones postgame. According to Tajiri, it was because of the prevalence of mobile games and how kids could just switch to those if they found Pokémon to be too hard. I loved the Battle Frontier and was seriously pissed about this.

If they are making a Z, I hope they add more post-game content.

I personally love all the Pokemon games, but I have to admit X and Y did not have a lot of post-game stuff to do, even though the games were outstanding

Thanks, guys! I think I like X best [mainly because Xerneas looks so beautiful and awesome]! I'm slightly disappointed that Shinx isn't in X or Y, though.

Actually I suggest you get Omega Ruby or Aqua Sapphire (Gen 3 remakes) and trade for the Pokemon you want from X and Y.

You can use the GTS to get Xernas and Yvetal.
Also ORAS has all of the non event legendaries from before XY.

Though sadly if you would have gotten ORAS and/or XY before Today, you could have gone to McDonald's and download the event legendary Hoopa.

Sadly the event ended yesterday in NA.


Just get one of the Omega Ruby (Groundon/Team Magma) or Aqua Sapphire (Kyogre/Team Aqua)

These two games have the items necessary for mega evolutions of Hoopa, Groundon (has as ORAS special move), Kyorge(has as ORAS special move), and others that aren't in XY
Both games have the all the mega evolution stones and TMs.

XY though are better for breeding shinies and for some abilities.

We don't know that there will be a Z. I hope it'll come, but at this point it's just one of many rumors going around.

Anyone want to trade for the Pokémon XY & Z - Legendary Pokémon that were released in Japan. I have a couple of them. They are the shiny xerneas,Yveltal, and Zygarde. These are legit since I got a japanese 3ds and a JP alpha saphire,then traded to my regular american alpha saphire.

^I don't know. I don't feel comfortable trading with people I don't know.

I wish they'd knock off the event pokemon crap. It's frustrating when you can't complete the collection of a game where that's one of the main draws because they're blocked behind a limited time event.

^Yes, I'm often annoyed by that. Back at my old house, I had dial-up, so I always missed out on event Pokemon.
