If you can cram 96 RAM in a RoG on a GTX980 with a 6K i7 with a Razor and sniper mouse, who needs a dusty console?

I can play the games off all those consoles for free, in virtual reality if i wanted.

And I have to honestly say I never had any problems running games on windows, but I have had tons of problems on the consoles systems.

I can also play a thousand games you all never heard of. Once you hear of them I can find another thousand. Then I can find another thousand that nobody heard of cause they dont have the specs. I cant count 20 xbox or xbox one games at best buy.

When it comes down to it gaming consoles just arent made for games.

I'm having a hard time with this. Do you mean you have never run into a problem you couldn't fix?

To be totally fair though, consoles do have one massive advantage over PCs: no Windows. There's a general lack of random failure or stupidity when using a console. I like that the damn things JUST FREAKING WORK. When I use my Wii U, I know it'll just do whatever I tell it. Wheras the PC... well, everyone knows how Windows is. Sometimes it seems like it's sitting there thinking about wether or not it'll bother to follow whatever command was given to it, as opposed to just doing it.

Ill give you that. Windows sucks. But since computers were and are my special interest i usually know what to do to fix the damn thing^^ But to be COMPLETELY fair console systems f**k up too. XBox One has just a crippled version of windows 10 running, to play newer games you need system updates instead of driver updates, software failures DO happen (a friends PS3 would hang up in menu sometimes randomly) and because everything is so cramped up inside these boxes with bad ventilation things like RROD/YLOD happen. I mean what the f**k? Literally self desoldering chips! This happens less on lower performance console like nintendos offerings, but i like to exclude nintendo out of this because they are so different to the mainstream console systems that i think they should be viewed at on their own. They also have a very different target audience...

Computers are my special interest, too. I think the main thing that makes PCs suck for gaming is that they are so diverse. You have a wide range of specs like CPU and RAM, and hundreds of different makes and models of graphics cards supporting various capabilities. On top of that, there are different versions of Windows, and some configurations can cause games to mess up. With consoles, you only have about 3 major vendors, and you know exactly what hardware and software platform the game will run on ahead of time, so you can take better advantage of the hardware and there are no issues with graphics card incompatibility, driver updates, and so on. What makes consoles suck is that they are a closed platform. Aside from exploiting vulnerabilities to run homebrew software, you can't just make your own indie game and hand it out to people and let them play it, like you can do on PCs. You have to become a "licensed developer" to do that, which costs money and excludes amateur programmers.

I do think hardware quality varies between consoles, too. I can't seem to recall anyone I know having issues with a Nintendo console, yet my cousin's old PlayStation 2 can no longer read disks and his Xbox 360 had to get replaced due to the red ring of death problem. This is just from my experience, though. Perhaps someone else has a troublesome Nintendo console.

I'd imagine since being a PC gamer who also is an extra nerd who knows more computers then some professionals. I can't possibly imagine being a PC gamer and running a PC decked out with mods with everything awesome on some awesome graphics card with everything working fine. Being a PC gamer means to tweak stuff and that fact is greater ten fold if you are a Linux user.

Oh god. My scene is handheld games, but I have a gamecube, xbox360, WonderSwan Crystal, (Ive had that thing since I was six years old..) A DSi, 2Ds, (witch is about to quit.) a GBA SP, and agazillion Tamagotchis, and my favorite is the WonderSwan, since I have a lot of fond memories of it. Sure, I cant read squat, but that was half the fun! Who could four Rainbow Warriors looking for the Magical Unicorn? It still works just fine, wich is impressive since I played it and still do a crap ton. Its a lotta fun.

Edit: I'm only 14 and I'm not from Japan, it just somehow ended up at a retro game store in 2008.

The GBA SP was the handheld I played the most. Most of the time I was playing Pokemon Emerald or Fire Red on it, and I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that my Emerald save file has a whopping 763 hours of play time, but it was fun. I also have a Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, and Nintendo DS, all of which my cousin gave to me when he quit playing video games.

I'm currently a PC gamer, but my favorite consoles are the 3DS, and the Wii U.

FPSs, TPSs, JRPGs, RTSs, TBSs, Rogue-likes, Zelda-likes, Myst-likes, dungeon crawlers, simulators, fighters, puzzle games, trivia games, arcade ports... And that is just off the top of my head.

The Super Nintendo and the GameBoy Advance. They both have 2D graphics and I like the soundtracks on these systems better than what you find on other consoles. The games are also longer and more in-depth. There's a real story to these games with complicated plots. I played Mirror's Edge Catalyst recently, and, despite that it's a great game, there's little story to speak of. And what is there is disappointing, rushed, and empty. You don't find that in high quality SNES and GBA titles.
