I have looked into Final Fantasy XIV before but the player count on steam is low in comparison to World of Warcraft, I have always wondered why there aren't more people playing Final Fantasy XIV. Is World of Warcraft more focused on PvP and raiding? Does WoW require you to play it constantly to be good at the PvP? I found that with League of Legends but I know Blizzard take a more casual approach to competitive PvP.

Every MMO is low compared to World of Warcraft. It's yet another reason why I always say it "corrupted" the genre. It's killed off quite a few good ones.

Also something to keep in mind is that something like Final Fantasy XIV and WoW arent actually comparable with League of Legends. ENTIRELY different genre, they have nothing whatsoever to do with each other. FF XIV and WoW are MMOs, huge games about world exploration and co-operative monster clobbering. League of Legends is a "moba", and a PURELY competitive game. It's closer to being a fighting game than something like an MMO. For Blizzard, the game of theirs that competes with League is Heroes of the Storm, which is their own "moba" game.

I recently viewed an arena steam of World of Warcraft PvP and I would say that the two genres share building character with certain statistics and items to maximise a specific role. Certain aspects of League of Legends focus heavily on teamwork, coordinating a baron attack or warding the map requires a strong team effort. I suspect that is where the similarities end, hours of grinding are replaced by an intense early game grind to level up your character the fastest.

League of Legends is the main one I play, only have been playing for a bit over a year I think...and I didn't really play online games before so its really the first one I've gotten into. But yeah my brother started playing it and suggested I give it a try and now we play together quite a bit.

I also have been playing a game called Path of Exile which is pretty fun and you can pretty much design whatever sort of character you want, right now I am playing a witch with necromancy abilities, I kind of wish it was a console game though...

I also have some special edition Civilization V with various extensions or whatever, it has an online mode but I haven't played that...and it's a fun game when you're bored or don't have Internet(unless one is trying to play the online mode I imagine). But the games take so long to complete and so it can get a little draining and boring after a while.

I will definitely try Path of Exile, I have Torchlight II and Nox but they are not massively multiplayer games. Why do you wish PoE was a console game?

I own Sid Meier's Civilization V, I have rarely played it though. Many people that play it have hundreds of hours of playtime, is it completely turn based or do the battles involve real time strategy?

LoL certainly is not a casual game that is for sure...

Dota players would have you believe otherwise *rolls eyes*. I always want to throw something at them, really. Dunno why each side cant just leave the other be. It's like the console wars, except less smart.

I suppose I just think it would make a good console game and could more easily be played on a bigger screen(could always get a wireless keyboard and just hook my laptop up to my t.v) it is good as is though. Also I don't think civilization has any real time strategy all turn based I am pretty sure.

The only online stuff I do is Hearthstone, and once in a while I play Don't Starve Together.

I honestly don't get the appeal of MMOs and MOBAs (and so on) because they either get repetitive or just full of trolls.

Currently trying to get back into the competitive Splatoon scene. Yes, that's a thing haha. Other games are Minecraft (6 years and this game is still my most played); Kerbal Space Program, and From the Depths.

I noticed a new peripheral called the lapboard that is appealing to couch gamers, The Corsair Lapdog received good reviews but you could alternatively use a keyboard tray and wireless peripherals at a much lower price. You could use a Steam Controller with custom bindings but I suspect there would be a learning curve to it, I noticed that Steam are bundling the Steam Controller and Sid Meier's Civilization VI together and it could definitely be a new way to play strategy games but I suspect it will suit slower paced turn based strategy better than a genre that requires fast reflexes.

I find the repetition in MMOs soothing, as long as there's other things to do. I've been known to just gather materials, craft items, and give them away to people I know.

Hello everyone. I am a gamer too, and I am actually playing a lot of different games. The best single player game for me has a really fantastic gameplay. If we are talking about multiplayer games, I would say that is the best one in this category. I have a lot of hours played in that game, and I am still not bored. It's an amazing game.

I only play Elder Scrolls online once you get your cp160 gear it becomes casual friendly as as the max gear level stays at cp160 is never raised so none of this spending hours getting the gear you want just to throw it away when the new Xpac comes out.

I used to like Rage online multiplayer. Recently I've been playing Tetris 99.
