Hello all, and may all have a good day!
I was just pondering my feelings on Far Cry 3, a game which I consider to be one of the better games of all time. I was simply hoping to find similar and/or dissenting thoughts on the matter.
Just to give the conversation a kick-start, I'll say that what I like most about the game is the feeling of strength it gives you. You start out feeling like anything and everything can kill you, because it CAN. By the end of the game, however, you will have grown into a juggernaut that cannot be stopped.
The game's play feels very much in line with the story.
Another thing I enjoy is the risk of being attacked by wildlife when you're in the middle of a well-laid plan, just to keep things interesting.

At the time, Farcry 3 was definitely a great game; however, I don't think it has aged very well. The mechanics are a bit stale, and the open-world isn't as diverse as I would have liked to be. I certainly couldn't handle a replay of it.

That's just my opinion though.

well i think far cry 3 was the best in the far cry series by far. the environment is stunning (when all graphics settings are maxed) and there is much scope for humor in the game for me as well.
the character of VAAS (sp?) was compelling to watch. i usually hate cutscenes and click through them if i can, but i was riveted with the authenticity of the character portrayal of a psychotic killer such as he.

his sister was gorgeous and so alluring (i forget her name). the sickly looking old herbalist at the top of the mountain was also interesting to watch the cutscenes of.

the cassowaries are such funny animals. they just walk slowly toward you in some mindless kind of trance until they get to within a certain distance, and then they start screeching a sound that seems like they are saying "oh my god!! !...oh my god!! !"
i liked to round up about 4 or 5 cassowaries if i could, and slowly coax them back to a camp where my allies were all just sitting around. it takes ages and you have to kind of go and catch ones that get too far away and lose interest, and keep them all following you (you can walk backward easily fast enough to keep far enough away from them), and when they get into your camp, you jump up on a roof (where the cassowaries can not get to), and watch the fun happen as your mates all scream "f****n' hell!" and start shooting and the cassowaries go beserk.
after it's all over, you have about 10 dead comrades to jump down and loot. that is so funny to me.

anyway, i did not like the character of "jason" (my character) because the voice acting seemed very weak.

i played it twice to see both endings.

you have the choice at the end to remain on the island and let your friends be killed and be forever able to screw this gorgeous girl, or kill the gorgeous girl and go back to boring los angeles with your friends.

it is a great game.
far cry 4 is almost as good, but the characters lack depth and i was not interested in any of their cutscenes (except for the homosexual man). but the helicopter you have in various places is it's best feature.
far cry 4 is no better than far cry 3 graphically.

far cry primal was disappointing, but that is another discussion.
