Doom II, Unloved, a GZDoom wad. God, this is tough on UV, and I'm having to save quite a bit, but it's very atmospheric, innovative and visually appealing.

Don't think this guy is playing on UV!

^ Yes, I'm not keen on that sort of thing, or this particular guy's commentary. 'Big Mac Davis' does some pretty good Doom commentaries though, and he keeps his face off the screen!

Civilization 6 ... or at least I was until it crashed just now.

Final Fantasy VI on my Android and Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the PlayStation (again). I've tried Horizon and Ratchet and Clank, but am very much in a Final Fantasy mood at the moment.

I've completed Doom II: Unloved, but had to restart in HMP ('Hurt Me Plenty') difficulty, as one or two sections on the UV ('Ultra Violence') setting were just about impossible. Here's a very good review of the game - the commentator is particularly entertaining to listen to after the 7:45 mark!

Elden Ring. Just finished the full moon chick at the stereotypical school of magic (don't have much time to play it, sadly). Can't really form too much of an opinion just yet other than it's quite good, especially if you like FromSoftware games that follow the Souls/Bloodborne formula, just with some added stuff on top of it (open world mostly). As a standalone experience, for some reason I don't think it'll be better than Sekiro [or Bloodborne] to me, but then, I'm not very far into it. We'll see. It seems like replayability will be there though, which Sekiro doesn't have too much of (I'll play that every several months or so). Oh, there's NPC invaders, which is something I've missed. The NPCs seem alright too so far. They finally added flails. Story is...the same as ever so far.

Not really that difficult so far. Basic Strength/Vigor Greatsword build without a Shield, which is what I always choose with these things for some odd reason (even in Bloodborne I went straight to Ludwig's when it became available the first time). I kinda want to restart and go with the flail. :| Seems similar to Dark Souls 3 in difficulty and I guess it'll follow a similar trajectory where something akin to Sister Friede will be the ceiling. Maybe it'll hit Never Hesitate levels of difficulty? I guess I can hope.

Mostly I've just been "playing" the game that I'm helping develop.

During the days, sometimes our son likes to watch me play Mario 64 or DK64, but he really likes the educational games...I need to find more of them for him.

Which patch(es) do you play it with?
The last time I played it was with ZRP, and everything was so much better. I had tried a few times to play it vanilla, and I just end up starting over when the bugs and glitches become too much to handle.
