I bought it sometime last year, and have played it several hours, but I lack the imagination to keep interested in it anymore.

I don't think I play singleplayer at all. Course the MP server I go to didn't update so in the meantime. Do something else until then and wait for a painterly texture update...

Hit trees with your hand to get wood. Take wood and make tools. Use tools to mine coal and ore to make better tools. Use wood and stone and whatever to make stuff for no reason. Don't die.

That's pretty much it. :D

I haven't played it in a long time; there's more new stuff than there was stuff in the entire game when I played it last. 8O

I got into it for a few weeks, but it slowly became kind of boring after I mapped out the local area around my spawn and built half a town on the island. There's only so much you can do with blocks. If the physics ever get better it might make it more challenging to build stuff. I just thought it was kind of lame not to have to build supporting pillars for huge bridges and stuff like that. And god forbid letting me make a suspension bridge, or any sort of truss for that matter. And the minekarts? That was the biggest disappointment ever. I also believe some method of flight should be in the game, but I don't think that will happen.

Turn difficulty to hard = Mobs. Have a Nice Day. Also join a Multiplayer server. There are Survival ones. There are ones for pure creativity and fun. Then there are servers for PVP. Yes. People who actually will kill each other in a game, build a nice fort and set up traps for anyone attempting to raid their homestead. Look up servers beforehand to see what fancies you the most and read their rules and sign up on their forums. You only venture 10% into the game. There is much much more.

believe it or not i like the unrealisticness of building in this game because i can basicly build whatever pops in my head, if i want a house in midair i can do it, there are like no games out there that let you do that and i love the freedom this game gives you.

but if you want to build with physics then try gmod.

all i do in that game is spawn armies and watch them kill each other, or just fire a nuke into the fray. trust me unless you know how to build complex machines then learning gmod will be next to impossible.

i do enjoy the game but i can't build even a simple catapult without screwing something up

I love Minecraft because there's so much to do in it. Most people only see the basic stuff, like building a floating house and fighting creepers with arrows. But you can also engineer a bunch of stuff in it, like holding up sand (or gravel) with a torch, then putting torches on that sand to hold more sand, so breaking the first torch makes the entire structure collapse. Then you can combine that with the glitch that lets you change the direction of water, so you can make the structure collapse with a push of a button. You can then build the structure underground and make it so that you push a button to make the sand beneath you collapse to reveal a secret room! :D! !! !

There's lots more you can do with how blocks interact with each other (and also with a few glitches); Minecraft is more than a sandbox-survival game.

Singeplayer is horribly boring, MP is pretty good though.
