Does anybody know where I can find a store that sells a constant supply of throwing knives and spears? I'm role playing a ninja and thought these weapons were a fun alternative to guns, but can't find more than one or two at a time in shops and in those shops it seemed purely random that they sold them. Like I found the shop keeper in Good Springs sold me a throwing knife once but he only had one and I've never seen him carry them again. I'd like to find a shop that sells at least a few at a time every time the store re-stocks they return to the shop selling pool. Any help would be appreciated :)

if your using pc, (ps only way to play fallout is on the pc imo)
i would recommend you look for a mod for it, or make one for your self.

if you don't mind cheating and your using the pc, you can console your self as many as you like.

You're supposed to find a guy called Festus and get his treasure... maybe kill him or something. I don't where he's at though.

I do not know if you still don't know what to do for the quest, but I figured out the "The Legend of the Star" quest. You have to go to the Sunset Sarsaparilla Headquarters with 50 sunset star caps. On the ground floor, from the entrance you should see the main room with a giant U shaped desk. Nearby in this room is a machine with a mannequin inside it named Festus. Talk to it and inset 50 caps and then you will be told where to find your reward. Oddly enough I found Festus while going to the headquarters to find unopened bottles of sunset sarsaparilla :)

The reward is pretty meh in my opinion, but it's okay I guess. I just didn't think it was worth saving fifty star caps for but it is a unique weapon :)

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Throwing_spear

says you can get it from the legion some were, i would make friendly with them and head on over, and see if you can find them in there camp, alternatively you can just pray on them and take there spears :P

if the legion sells them, im sure you can get a lot more that way. to bad you did not get it on the pc thou :( you could of added a seller who only sells throwing weapons.

# They can also be purchased in Freeside at Mick & Ralph's, providing you have enough speech skill (30).

Thank you for the tip. I need to raise my speech just high enough so I can pick that option though. I've not put any points into speech yet. Once I do I plan on heading over there. Actually Mick is where I've bought a single throwing knife once or twice but I didn't know he sold them in bulk :)

As far as with the spears, I'm very lost on the description of that site. It says you can acquire them from Caesar's Legion, but I am accepted and still there's nobody who sells spears in the Legion's main camp. I've also tried looking in their supply chests and things like that with no result. I wish the person who wrote that thought about being more specific.

At least I know where to get the knives though since they count as hold out weapons and spears don't. Plus I just got the cowboy perk so now they do almost as much damage as a spear :D

Hmm... when i first passed the speech challenge of 30 at Mic and Ralph's he too had 15 throwing knives. The problem is after waiting for him to restock it's random if he'll sell the knives again. He does sell a variety of throwing weapons from his random pool though and he usually has a few of one type or another upon restock so it does seem to be the only reliable source in buying them.

I figure I'll just buy whatever throwing weapons he has when I go there and I should be fine with that.

Another thing I noticed is that I think throwing weapons were meant to be retrieved. I think that is why they cost so much being around 30 caps per knife/spear/hatchet. When I bought the first 15 knives from Mic, their item health was below average threshold. I've also on an odd occasion had a knife not stab into the ground upon missing a target and saw it laying on the floor saying "Pick up knife projectile". I hope they fix this soon as I'm pretty sure it was meant that you could retrieve throwing items. If it was fixed that would be awesome :)

Realistically, also a throwing knife does fairly low damage for something that has .5 weight, is rare to obtain, and costs 30 caps... I can't imagine that they were meant to be one time use weapons :?

I found a speech glitch on my own and abused it to get the speech trophy on a previous play through. I didn't get xp after the first time I passed the speech check though. There was a girl outside the lucky 38 who asked me to bug Mr. House's computer terminal. I then returned to her after doing so and I believe you have to have a high enough speech to pass the check the first time you talk to her again after doing so or the option will never appear again. But with the high enough speech and talking to her after bugging the 38 you can repeatedly re-navigate the speech menu to take the speech challenge over and over again with that woman as long as you don't back out of the dialogue menu. As soon as you do she will never speak with you again. It's a pointless glitch once you have the associated reward though as I said it doesn't net xp after the first pass of the speech challenge :)

I don't like correcting myself a whole lot, but I feel I have to :) The reward looks kinda crappy when you look at it's stats but it's actually a very nice gun for my build. It is very good for sneak attack criticals and even though you may not have specialized in the gun's associated skill it's skill level requirement is zero so even though I specialized in melee and unarmed I can still use it :D

I would give a full description of the gun, but then it would ruin the surprise of doing the quest. I'll just say it is a very neat gun for someone who utilizes sneak attack criticals... if you don't... don't bother trying to get it as it isn't quick to fire

Finally got more time to play!! !! !

I'm maxed at level 30 (I'm doing as many quest as I can because I'm not sure when I'll get to play a new game).

Me and Cass just cleaned out the Death Claw cave to finish the Bleed Me Dry quest...

I killed the Legendary Death Claw with This Machine (had to use VATS though :( ).

My current set up is:
Apparel- Bounty Hunter Duster/Suave Gambler's Hat

Weapons- Hunting Revolver (primary), This Machine (heavy assault), Light Machine Gun (oh s**t! spray and pray).

Companions- Ed-E and Cass.

Guess I'm about ready to deal with Benny and start the end game... I want to do Arcade's quest at some point too.
