Teary eyed:
Metal Gear Solid - Sniper Wolf's death

Metal Gear Solid 4 - When Crying Wolf is carried away by that wolf, and Otacon says 'Welcome home Wolf'. That just kills me every time ^_^;;

Cried:
Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes - Sniper wolf's death

God that was awful. The original just made me alittle teary eyed, but I did cry when I watched the remake. It was just so sad, the music, those wolves, the whole thing!

Hey don't feel bad about it Metal Gear Solid 4 can make one (even one as emotionally indeferent to events in video games as i am) made me break down ESPECIALLY when Naomi hunter DIES (sorry if this is a spoiler but i have to get this off my chest) at shadow moses at the end of act 4 but what really did me in is when she said "Snake, i'm sorry for everything" MAN THAT KILLS ME ALMOST EVERY TIME!

FF7

Aeris' Death (First time I saw it, I cried, all subsequent times my thought process was - you just made a big mistake man....you are dead and just don't know it yet)

FF9

Okay yes, this actually had a happy ending, but I'd say tears of pure joy!

FFX

The scene right before the calm lands in Macalania Woods where Yuna finally breaks her composure. There there, we'll find another way.
When Tidus has to leave, but he is reunited with his father after being "sent". Personal connection with me - my father died when I was 6, so anything that makes me think of our relationship just brings me to tears.

I don't think this has been mentioned:

Star Ocean 3: Til' The End of Time

When Fayt's dad is murdered by the Vendeeni right in front of him.

*Major Spoiler Warning*
DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS GAME!

The saddest moment in a video game that I ever came across was when Nanako's heart stopped in Persona 4...

When that happened I wanted make the main character shove Nametame through the screen.

Never had any cause tears but there is some I found sad.

The death of Aeris is a good example. I would have to say FFIII SNES(FFVI) was just a giant sad game.

Terra's parents are killed. Celes gains her powers from Espers being killed. Cyan's family is poisoned. General Leo is killed for trying to be a good guy. Locke's girlfriend dies(this is when you get the Pheonix esper).... lets see now. Oh yeah, Shadow in general is just one long sad story, ending with his death.

Most of the ending moments of 358/2 Days made me cry... a lot. And then I was in a pretty bad funk for days after.

....
And then the same thing happened when I beat my second play-through of it.

Found a capture of the Mass Effect moment I cited earlier (although he chose a slightly different line for the ending...):

Xion's death in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, it tops Aeris' death by far, I can't remember being this saddened in a long time, I thought Xion and Roxas looks like a great couple, I can't believe it, although I knew something would happen to her eventually.

1. Final Fantasy 4, when Anna died.
2. Final Fantasy 7, when Aeris died and was laid to rest. I too had a good long cry about that. I couldn't play the game for two whole days because I was mortified. =[
3. Final Fantasy 9, when Zidane and Garnet are reunited.
4. Twilight Princess, when Midna returns home to her world through the Twilight Portal.
5. Final Fantasy 3, listening to the theme of The Invincible. It is filled with nobility, yet it has aural beauty in it's own right.

It's good to know that someone else cries over events in video games as well! Now I don't feel like such a loon. ^^;

i forgot one

in drakengard 2 when caim and angelus die, even though i hadn't seen drakengard 1 and i knew nothing about them it was still sad.

in fact i was actually having a hard time with that fight because of what legna was saying the whole time about her wanting to be out of her misery.

1. Gears of War 2, when Dom is forced to euthanize his wife.
2. At the end of Call of Duty 4, when the Russians come to save you, but can't save your captain. (RIP Cpt. Price.)
3. When Sgt. Johnson died in Halo 3. ("Send me out... with a bang...")
4. At the end of Final Fantasy X when Yuna runs through Tidus because he's become a ghost.

Maybe not the kind you cry over, but it does have that depressing dramatic shock that gives you goosebumps at least.

I guess you could say I cry at the end of every Final Fantasy game, mainly because they are over but also because the endings are so perfect. The ending theme that plays during the credits is worthy of an orchestration, bringing all the other in-game themes together and making a perfect conclusion... I love it.

In GTA IV, when Katie got killed during Roman's wedding. I felt sorry for Niko, because he might've actually loved her! :(
