I am and am not looking forward to this game. I loved the first two games, and so naturally i'm looking forward to the new story line and such. But then again, i'm not all familiar with this mmo style very well, so i'm not sure how i'd feel about this. My dad and I were gonna play it together and hopefully it will be fun.

Oh, and here's the website for the new game.

Well, I love the first two games, especially the first. If you want a real roleplaying expereience use this mod called "Call of Aid", it lets you summon guys to help you, it's much more fun running through a Sith Base with a squad of republic Soliders then it is by yourself.

I don't know if I'll buy this new MMO, I'll play the demo but I don't know if I'll buy it.

A new Kotor might, just might, finally convince me to give a MMORPG a go. I am proud of never having played WoW...

Loved the KoTOR games, but I'm rather skeptical about SWToR at the moment. I don't know if I'd play it even if it turns out good, though. MMORPGs are such time sinks. I wouldn't have time for any other games at all if I played one. Think about how much stuff you'd miss out on. It is impressive what Bioware are trying to do.

I loved the first Kotor, I was peeved when the second did the same plot device of memory destruction....

I'm not a big fan of MMOs, never have or ever will play WoW, but maybe BioShock will continue to make good games.

This KotOR instalation sounds like fun. I just hope it doesn't end up sucking or costing a lot to play it.

I admit I'm not really "in the loop" about games. I've tried (and hated) a couple of free MMOs. But Bioware stuff has, in my experience, been good - I liked the Baldur's Gate series, for example. And I bought KOTOR out of a bargain bin to look at for a university course on the theory of narratology, and how nonlinear narrative in videogames employs a kind of branching system with things you can skip, things you must do, and a number of different outcomes depending on past events.

I am not, by any means, a Star Wars fan. But KOTOR was pretty ass-kickingly good and graphically nice. Low-poly, true, but it still looked good and performed well, even on my laptop.

I'd be tempted to give the MMO version a try.

Well, technically the Exile still had his/her memories - we just weren't made privy to them until the time came. Or do you mean the erasure of HK-47's memory data? Which yeah, don't see the point there either - what great revelation could come? The rest of the galaxy already knew that the Jedi who saved/destroyed the Republic was really Revan. And what purpose did it serve, having HK-47 not remember T3-M3 (the only other continuing character)? Just have Revan wipe his/her destination from HK-47's memory, and that aspect is taken care of.

OTOH, I didn't like the missing stories from Sith Lords, whose stubs were still in the plotline (like the elimination of the HK-50 factory, or the story behind G0-T0 and its final confrontation with Bao-Dur's remote). I understand that wasn't really Obsidian's fault, but rather the result of LucasArts' insistence that the game had to be out in time for Christmas that year and to hell with how good it was (sadly, a precursor to the attitude of LucasFilms to the production of the prequel movies, it would seem...).

The interesting thing about leaving us hanging at the end of the second one is how are they going to pull it off if they make another game similar to the second one. The thing about KOTOR and KOTOR II is that they tend to make you start from scratch meaning that your lead character doesn't have any powers to begin with. At the end of the second one, you are left with a lot of characters, including the main character, so who knows. Maybe, they might allow us to choose the character that we play. Maybe, the main character gets hit with amnesia (again). But once again, we'll see what happens after this new one comes out.
