Be warned that it's complete with screenshots and everything though, so you'll have to be careful if you don't want to spoil any of the really hidden loots.

I dont like the walkthrough, its a shame taffer never finished it because this walkthrough just tells you to go here then there with no directions assuming you know the way and swich from left and right to using compass directions, never warns about guard patrols or robots.I think I will never beat theif 2 if finding a half way decent walkthrough is this hard if only the guy on visual walkthrough.com did one.

You shouldn't really need to know where all of the guards and Children are...they wander around and stuff anyway, so they're hardly ever in the same place. Just stay in a dark corner for a while and listen for footsteps, if it's all clear, dart for another corner and repeat. Try to stick to soft floors, like carpets or grass, or even wood is okay sometimes.

I like to keep an eye on the guards and watch where they go, then I think for a bit and come up with a strategy for taking them out and getting away with it.

If you're really stuck, I can try to help you out. I know there was one or two parts in that game I just could not get past without checking a walkthrough.

I dont think I will ever beat this game because not one walkthrough I have read can't compare to taffers,I really need a walkthrough,I wouldn't have beaten without one.All others have crap directions, dont cover loot and makes it annoying to try and sneak or any sembelance of stealth.Does anyone know if the offical prima guide is anygood or is no one lives forever 2 guide quality has complete crap.

I'd forgotten how good Thief II is... just finished the police station. The intro briefings won't play on my machine though, for some reason, and I can't find any codec that gives me more than the audio when I look at the files. :(

No idea, I haven't bought a strategy guide since before the Internet.

Did you try IGN's guide? They usually have good ones.

:( I knew there was something wrong with the graphics - hadn't realised just how bad it was. Unfortunately the ddfix program won't run on my (Vista 64/DX10) machine :( .
It's playable enough with the gamma turned right up, but I shall be constantly annoyed by it now. May have to resort to using a USB keyboard and mouse with my works XP laptop. :)

Is this walkthrough useful to you, Magnus? It seems to cover all the missions, at least.

Mmm, thanks Magnus but the game runs alright for me (I just have to manually set the affinity each time, which is no bother), it just doesn't run the intros (which I can live without 'cause the text is easy enough to find online) but the real shame is the graphics - it has some dislike of my graphics card which means the shadows don't look right. If I turn the brightness right up ***DOH! just realised why I've got a blinding headache    been staring at too bright a screen for hours*** I can see well enough to play it though, it's just a pity that it doesn't look quite right. :(

Anyway I'm having fun with the Pagans at the moment... just ran into a field full of freakish eyeball plants. Bizarre!

It's some nVidia card, "8800 GTX", I think. From what I could see there's an issue where modern graphics cards no longer support the dithering that the game uses, so areas of shadow that should be slightly different are rendered as the same.

You should email the guy or post in one of the threads, maybe they can look into getting it to work on Vista...unless you just installed it wrong, maybe?
