To get them to like you, you have to understand them a bit.

Alistair: Make decisions that would be "lawful/good," so no one/few get hurt and no sacrifices need be made (likes faith oriented gifts)
Morrigan: If it increases your power, and screws over the religious type, she's all for it . . . just not to extreme measures (likes some jewelry, and demonic artwork . . . basic goth chick).
Leliana: Same as Alistair (likes same gifts as Alistair, plus stories and flowers)
Wynne: Not sure, havent used her much (likes tomes and runic/magic gifts)
Oghren: Just keep him drunk and dont bring up his wife (booze gifts, or runic ones)
Sten: Try not to bother him too much, or make a decision that wastes time on the matters at hand (ie helping others) (not sure yet about his gift preference)
Zevran: If a decision involves sex and assassinations, you're good to go (any gift that seems to have an air of value to it).

If your teammates are Alistair, Leliana, and Wynne, they all will like you more with the do-gooder decisions (thus make for a good "rep grinding" team). Too many conflicts of interest in your teams makes things that much harder.

I tell you something odd, in this game as well as KotOR, one of the character I respect the most is the elderly person who is wise, well aware that many would care for their for their opinion or think of their stories as not interesting (they being Jolee Bindo and Wynne). They also both claim to have been much less perfect when young, I have to say that they are some of the game charecter I respect most. Also I like Wynne's interest in everyone aswell as Jolee's constant claims as being grumpy and senile, though sometimes he does make as much sense as a drunk Oghren who claims the dog took his trousers that he is actually wearing.

I've been playing the Xbox 360 version, and I love it. I'm intrigued by the storyline - it reminds me of one of my favorite book trilogies, in fact.

Of course, I'm still playing my way through on my first character (Dalish Ranger/Bard), but I'm a side quest junkie, and there's a few times where I've backtracked because I actually felt guilty about some of the actions I took (particularly at Redcliffe Castle).

I am baffled by how this game got past the censors as is, though. Jack Thompson would love this if he hadn't been disbarred! :P

especially with that blood splatter that stays on your characters for several minutes :P
I really enjoyed it, personally and yeah I also feel bad about my redcliffe decision

Although I didn't manage to romance Leliana, I'm not sure how I missed it since I got her approval maxed out I'm pretty sure...

I just managed to get romantic with Morrigan, Zevran and Leliana. Though I botched up my relationship with Morrigan when romancing Leliana. At least I have the achievements. :)

i really enjoyed this game despite a few glitches on PS3. I did find Alister actually easy cause you just basically played goodie goodie and he liked you. I need to still finish my second playthrough. I want to try to get all the trophies in this one but am distracted but assassin's creed II and FFXI

I'm trying to play as a Dual Wield Arcane Warrior, but I'm having a very hard time figuring out which spells to get and if I should just go for tanking spells and auto-attack, instead of actively using damage spells, as my ridiculously inadequate mana pool runs out after 2-3 spells.

Any advice is welcome.

i have an arcane warrior but she's basicly a healer, i had her die for the blight after i figured out you have to leave alistair behind in order to do it, then the ending i got made me regret it serverly.

most of my characters were warriors though, i've made at least 10 warriors, mages and rogues take to much damage but at least mages can heal, my rogue dies constantly i'm always getting switched to alistair mid battle.

i am a decent healer but a sucky tank, but from playing wow i kinda knew that.

There is another way out . . . get in REALLY good with Morrigan, she offers you a better, if not slightly morbid, way out of that predicament.

haha, I know about 2% that much about rpgs. I'm an FPS man myself (not the mainstream junk) but it's good to see I at least have some more stuff to occupy my time with. Some as in a lot of learning to do ;).

It was fine, though like every other bioware RPG, they managed to make it possible to create utterly broken characters, which I always figure out within the first few minutes of reading the class development lines
