My favorite memory also happens to be the last time I remember playing against anything but the AI. It was one of my friend's birthday parties, and we were playing the original Pokémon Stadium (this is a while ago, I don't even think Gold and Silver were out anywhere but Japan yet). He had beaten every other person at the party and was bragging about how he was unbeatable. He had his team of Pokémon that he had trained on his Game Boy (which included Mewtwo), and everybody else was battling with the rental Pokémon (if you've played Stadium, you know how much worse these are). I threw together a team after a little thought and beat him without losing a single Pokémon.

Mewtwo was incredibly tough before the introduction of Dark and Steel; non-Poison Ghosts.

When my friend was playing pokemon blue she spoke to the girl by the bicycle shop and the girl said " Im gonna buy a shiny red new bicycle and leave it at Home so it doesn't get dirty" or something very similar to that and we were like , seriously you douche why buy the shiny red bicycle in the first place then.

I remember back in third or fourth grade, I think third, I actually thoght I was "too old" for pokemon, and here I am still playing over a decade later once my cousin finally convinced me to give it a try

I remember my favorite pokemon was butterfree. that may seem weird, as I'm male, and men are generally supposed to not like butterflies, but at that time I had three huge obsessions: 1. Entomology 2. The color Blue 3. The number Twelve.

I still remember the saturday morning I caught articuno...

I remember in one of the games I beat Lt. surge's raichu with a geodude that was only level 2-4, as said rachu knew no non-electric moves. I remarked "Watch it level up to like, 12 (again, 12 obsession) which is exactly how high it leveled up.

My biggest memory in silver was when I was wandering around headbutting trees because I was bored and it was either late at night or early in the morning, and saw heracross or the first time. I HAD to catch that! Skarmory was another big surprise. I did generations 1 and 3 with guides, but those fond memories of happening upon *****'n pokemon by chance in generation 2 is what convinced me to go into sinoh guideless

I am remember a pretty bad memory when I was useing Mewtwo in the Mansion, I cam across a Weezing, I told my Mewtwo to do metrenome, and it did transform, I was then stuck in a battle of two Weezings trying to kill each other with Smog, which they ran out of pp first. What a wasteful time to use a rare move.

I have some good memories of getting some pretty rare pictures of Pokemon in Pokemon Snap. Such as like the dificult Gyarados from the waterfall.

Butterfree was one of my favorites too on my first Leaf Green playthrough, and that was as a 24 year old male. It was just neat whomping all those early poison/grass types with Confusion, but from a more competitive battling standpoint, Butterfree's 30% accuracy boost makes Sleep Powder/Stun Spore quite reliable.

Butterfree will always have a special place for how usefull it is for the gym badge against Brock, and is pretty usefull for a good length later, I was quite excited when my Butterfree first learnt sleep powder.

I learned a lot of english. I remember that I figured out that "rose" means "increased" before I understood that it's a preteritum of "rise".

i got into pokemon when i was 14 and i finally quit playing the card game at 22 and i will be 25 in july. it had a big influence on me and i still like the video games. i remember when i first started playing i started i traded away a lot of good cards. i then realized which ones were good so i started getting better cards and before you know it i had the best collection in town and all the other kids who were my friends when they were into pokemon started getting more into sports and made fun of me for playing pokemon. i remember when i was in the eigth grade the school i went to decided to ban pokemon cards which i thought was ridiculous. the principle believed it took away from our education. when i got my freshman year of high school i met a couple of guys who really liked pokemon and he still has his collection today. i remember when we went to detroit to play in a tournament back in 2001, it was in detroit and it was a blast. when i got into my late teens about 16 0r 17 i took a break from pokemon to play other games. when i was 18 i got back into pokemon and i played in major tournaments for the next 3 1/2 years. i met a lot of new people through pokemon and had more friends with pokemon than i have now. pokemon was very fun and still is today i plan on buying and platinum and the new version of silver soon. wow that was long.

I remember being huddled up on the couch, underneath the table lamp with my Gameboy, playing Pokemon. I sat there for such large stretches of time that my mom would periodically make me put it down and go outside for a breath of fresh air.

Anyway, my favorite in-game memory was this: I had tried to beat the Elite Four time and time again, but I soon ran out of cash. There were hardly any trainers left to beat, so I didn't know how to make more money. Then I caught a Meowth with the move Payday. I went around hitting all the wild Pokemon with Payday and getting a little money at a time. It was a tedious process, but I eventually got enough money to buy more supplies to at least stand a chance against the Elite Four. I won. :D

Oh, and when I got to the cave where Mewtwo lived (forgot the name), I got obsessed with Rhydons and caught like a whole party of them. I liked teaching them Surf. Heehee :)

Ah, awesome. In the end, the Elite Four, Payday, and selling stuff from the Game Corner were the only sources of income. I stuck to Payday, mostly.

Celadon Cave, I think. I was fascinated that Rhydon could Surf.

Ouch. I hope his friend didn't kick him too hard.

I found this link the other day and couldn't wait to share it; if you guys want to play/replay the old first gen Pokemon games on your PC, legally and anytime you want, check this out:

http://www.virtualgbx.com/

It's a 100% legal java emulator, run by the same guy who manages virtualnes.com. They basically operate like a video game rental store, except the rentals are digital and the cost is free. So they only let people play games they have in their warehouse, and with donations from Gamers Like Us (TM) that number is increasing.

They have Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green. Rock on!
