I like the music in the Ratchet & Clank series a lot. I actually downloaded my favorite song of all of them onto my iPod (any more than that and I figured people would get weirded out). After I've played through a level (and the game) I'll go back to all of them and just listen to the music.

I forgot about Mechwarrior 2 and Total Annihilation. They had great soundtracks. It's been a long, long time since I've played them.

I'm a big fan of Koji Kondo, though.

Of course, some good/funny stuff isn't even particularly game-like.

I love anything quirky and upbeat. Here's just a few:

Gerudo Valley theme from Zelda: Ocarina of Time, without a doubt, I absolutely love that song. I was drenched in pleasant childhood memories when I discovered the Facebook page, dedicated to this song and heard it for the first time in five years.

Heroes of Might and Magic has always had good music in my opinion. Really creates the atmosphere of an epic fantasy world. Just a shame ubisoft killed off the storyline with the fifth game :(

Also, the litlle polish gem called Divine Divinity has some astonishing good music. Again, sets the mood perfectly.

also, for nostalgia reasons, Adventures of Alundra has some catchy tunes. And the theme to the castle in the lake is simply breathtaking. take a listen!
