I've never really had a sensory issue with video games . . . however, FPSs usually disorient me (the only exception). RTSs, RPGs, Turn-based RPGs/RTSs, 3rd person shooters/RPGs have been just fine for me (but im not one to mentally map out the hot keys . . . takes the challenge out of things).

FPS tend to make me dizzy and give me headaches.

And yes, FFXIII drove me crazy because things happened so fast I had no idea what was happening in combat. It's also why I am completely unable to PVP in mmorpgs. I also find that RTS games can get to fast for me.

One of the reasons why I love Fallout 3 is that it's 3rd person and you can drop to turn-based combat.

I will admit I like games that remain true to simplicity. I like New Super Mario Bros. I like Kirby games. My favorite RPG is the original Paper Mario.

I'll be the contrary cat.

I like em fast and complicated. Simple games are fun, but after a while they all start to feel the same.

Developers can't truly make a game too strategically hard, or few people would be able to play it.

Having games be fast paced and complex is the most sensible way to make them challenging imo.

Does anyone else feel this way? I used to be a hardcore video gamer. No more.

New games are too complex. There are too many commands, too many buttons, too many abilities, too much going on at once, and everything is too fast-paced.

UGH this summarizes my thoughts on Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Trying to keep up is so frustrating  I guess I must be too slow :?

Kessen 1 was ok. Just guide Your Toyotomi troops, fire cannons, move into position.

Dynasty Warriors 1, 2 (Romance of the 3 kingdoms). !?!??!?! !?!?! !!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!Q!!?

First off, Koei please make games that actually reflect what REALLY happened. No although, Chinese sagas are cool with flying people, mutating into dragon and phenoixes, flying into the air they hurling at earth with the scream of an F-15 fighter, where the soldiers on the field see nothing but flaming daggers, and some sexy babe strangling them with her silk sash. This did not happen!

Now Chinese warriors on the ground smashing stuff up, in "Braveheart" fashion DID happen. If you want to make a game based on a historical conflict, please please make it realistic.

Like if you want to make a game about the American revolution (Give me Liberty or Death), then please have Washington, Cornwalis etc etc etc REAL men. Don't make some Illuminati angel of death spell, where Washington turns into a giant titan and smashes everyone on the screen.

Like Koei makes a game about the 100 years war. And no, magical angels didn't REALLY help joan of arc. She didn't sprout wings and a lance of Micheal the Arch angel. Yet, the game portrays them this way. Makes the game dazzling, but very confusing. Too much eye candy, is like getting a really bad sugar rush. You feel good, then your stomach feels like sticky crap, and you're very sluggish. (And this is what happens when we see Final Fantasy). Like keep the limit breaks something easy to use, something enjoyable. We want to see Infriti throw a chunk of plate tetonic at some jerk. Not have to input a right combo.

I go and play bully, and little Jimmy tries to work in Snape's science lab. You get distracted by him pushing all these buttons and what not, with the back ground. Then you lose you smoke up the room and get an F.

I have to admit, I do prefer going back to the older games for feelings of Nostalgia mainly. I get what you mean about some of the newer games having far too much going on in them. I got SNK vs games for the wii not long ago, I ended up turning it off after about ten minutes because I didnt have a clue what the hell was going on with all the characters jumping in and out, flashing images, mad sound effects. Too muuuuuch, so I turned it off and load up Street fighter 2 turbo on my snes. Ah much better.

As for Pc Gamers, I do not know how you do it. I went and bought the Soul reaver games for my PC because I had played Blood Omen 2 on my gamecube and loved it. I have a ten button joypad which I found out wasnt enough for all of the actions. so I gave up on it because I got tired of using the keyboard aswell.

Also one point I would like to make, some of the older games are much much harder than todays games. todays just seem far too easy. Dont you think?

I guess I am slow since I do not like fast paced games with complicated button combinations.

Plus, I want to play games where I don't feel like it is work -- especially after a long work day.

I remember one point I was making excel spreadsheets for WoW based upon the auction house profits, and then I realized WTF, this is not a game anymore.

Ideal games for me are where I am absorbing the story and, escaping from the real world. These kind of games are generally single player RPG's.

But for now, I gave away my PS3 and Gameboy DS to my brother and sister-in-law, respectively, so I can focus on my career. I get distracted easily.
