I'm slightly surprised, because last time I heard about it it I'm sure it was going to be set on Summerset Isle.

That was the rumor about Oblivion, too.

Doesn't help that they keep throwing in juicy rumors about things happening in Summerset Isle all the time.

Ooh, are we going to have a 2e/3e/3.5e vs. 4e argument?

No. Notice my profile icon and that it says that I'm a dragonborn druid. I like 4e, it's actually the only edition I've played. I'm just being sarcastic.

This is the full version of my profile pic.

I was being sarcastic too. I have played every edition but 4e, although I love what I've read of 4e. I think the turf wars over editions is silly.

Not sure about this one. The AI in the last game was a good step towards emergent gameplay, but the world itself and the setting was deathly dull. The Shivering Isles also shows that they no longer understand the difference between a weird setting, and an interesting one. The Dungeons also sucked. But I hope 5 wont be merely good like Oblivion

Skyrim will be awesome, I put about 120 hours into Oblivion in 2007 I think, and the furthest I got in the main story was just after the Daedra gate in Kvatch. :D

lol wow...I got Oblivion only a couple months ago, I have always had something against sandbox gameplay (grand theft auto made me hate it). So I avoided it and Morrowind upon release but I said what the hell when it was $20 at walmart in GOTY edition, beat the game and shivering isles with my main, 105 hours on that character, 25 hours on a mage that I hate, 25 hours on an assassin/thief and 5 hours on 2 additional crap characters. So 160 hours so far, I will probably devote 600 hours of my life to this damn game. Oh well at least it isn't Kal Online, I've probably got over 4000 hours logged into that game since I was 14. How you can't get past kvatch idk. I get past that in 5 hours.

I couldn't get past it because I got too involved in doing so many sidequests. Anyways, I don't have the game anymore, so I can't play anymore. But I think I've outplayed it. :P

Sidequests got on my nerves. I'd run into a city to finish one quest and two more would popup. Having done like 170 quests on my main I've learned to just ignore non-storyline quests for like the first 10 levels of the game (do you know how hard it is to save kvatch when you're level 30+?!?!)

The sidequests are what I believe are the best part of oblivion, who honestly didn't like the whodunit mission for the dark brotherhood?

I would've prefered the Black Marsh, but Skyrim is fine too. As long as they handle certain factors better than in Oblivion.

Totally revamped, no more class selection at the start of the game, every skill you level contributes to your overall level. And each time you level you get extra health plus the ability to get either more health, magicka or stamina.
Each level also brings you perks. Cool abilities I guess like in Fallout 3.
Also, the leveling was moved from 1-25 or something like that to 1-50, but 50 is soft-capped, you just advance really slow after that.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! !! !

I like class, selection. Making my own class was the beauty of old style RPG.

I don't want some modern kids dumbed down RP. I want old school baby, so give it to me.

The class selection was nothing more than an arbitrary way to allocate skill points, you can still be an archer, rogue, warrior, battlemage etc... you just have to put the skill points into the right skill slots manually.
