Either The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, or Thief II.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.

Secretly, I still listen to select pieces of music from either aforementioned games in the morning to get psyched up for the day.

Darn. my secret is out.

^I love Link to the Past. I beat that game three or four times. And I tried beating the entire thing in less than a day, but it ended up taking about one-and-a-half days. D:

I still sometimes get the songs from that game stuck in my head, even though I haven't played it for years. (my GBA broke)

I loved those 3 games too - also Banjo Kazooie, Rachet and Clank and Jak and Daxter. I miss them so much :(

I also got seriously addicted to Sims 2 on the playstation. Nothing ever got done in the house - I didn't even stop to eat half the time!

I don't play now - I want to - but I get too hooked and I'm suppose to be an adult :oops:

Hard question... I have a lot of favorites such as Mario 3/world/64, Final Fantasy 3(JAP/NES) and Tactics, Zelda LttP/4SA... etc

But the "Best" Game? I think I should go with a game I played just recently, Radiant Historia (DS).
Such a phenomenal game. It doesn't really do anything new or unique but it takes all the best elements of most RPGs, perfects them and combines them so smoothly. Simply put; its the most supreme evolution of the RPG genre.

Animal Crossing.

There was no real "point" to it; and that's why I enjoyed it so much. Simple, unadulterated bliss. A place where your neighbours are animals who never seem concerned that you are basically a mute with free rein to run amok in their town, and where fruit is plentiful and paying off your mortgage is rewarded with a shiny statue in front of the local train station.

Too bad real life isn't anything like this.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Actually, there are better games out there, but none of them have the same nostalgia value for me. My first video game was a Genesis and Sonic 1 and 2 were my favorite games. Sonic 3 & Kniuckles improves on every aspect of them. Besides, no Sonic game has surpassed it ever since (although Sonic Colors is Sega's biggest step in the right direction until now).

Also worthy of mention:

- Dwarf Fortress;
- the Fallout series;
- The Legend of Zelda series;
- the Metroid series;
- Monster Hunter Tri;
- Giants: Citizen Kabuto, an obscure PC game with some of the best jokes and gameplay I've seen.
