Things are looking up, even if there did move it to 2013.

It's cool that you can see that Platinum are oldschool Konami fans. The title screen is so very Gradius/Contra era Konami.

You're talking about the demo screen right?

No doubt the game will have good production values and physics since Platinum games have made some excellent titles before and I think a more known video game character will help boost the popularity of Platinum games since other titles have been overlooked by the mainstream crowd.

However I'd love to see a remake of the original Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 but that's unlikely to happen, a Metal gear Solid 1 remake could possibly happen in the future though.

Metal gear solid 5 could be set in Africa.

MGS1 was remade, as MGS: Twin Snakes, for the GameCube.

I'm only really familiar with Metal Gear because Snake turned up in Super Smash Bros, and because I have a friend who used to love talking about its story. The problem with game series which have labyrinthine stories is that they can be very daunting for beginners. If they ever reboot the franchise, I'll jump in then.

Yeah, the title screen. The artstyle and fonts used etc and very 90's Konami.

Given that Konami have released MGS3 on 3DS and the Xbox and PS3 have had the HD collection including Peace Walker, I wouldn't rule out a MGS The Twin Snakes, MGS2 and MGS3 HD pack exclusively for Wii-U. Nintendo own publishing rights to the most up-to-date version of MGS1 which is why we didn't see an MGS1 HD update in the recent release. I can't see a full current gen full remake of MGS1 happening anytime soon, really. Although I love that section in MGS4.

They really should make more of their pedigree in order to help appeal to the mainstream.
"These are the people behind almost every decent game you played by Capcom"
or "These guys are why Capcom suck, now"

Have you tried the Anarchy Reigns/Max Anarchy demo on Japan's Market Place/PSN? I've been playing a bit of the multiplayer.
I think Sega aren't going to take a chance on it losing money here, so it looks like a Japan only release. I think I'm going to import it. It's just like Power Stone from the Dreamcast. It's that good.

I agree, they really need to plug more money into advertising, I haven't played it but looks like it is due for release on the 6th of July, the price should drop to around a tenner or twenty pounds if sales aren't any good so I'll be sure to pick it up if it is released in the UK.

Sega are dropping out of AAA/retail videogames in the West. In their defense I'd say fair play to them for giving it a last push, but funding and releasing things like Binary Domain didn't do them any favours. That game did little but detract from the likes of Bayonetta and Vanquish. That game still would've been rubbish last gen.
Looks like Yakuza which still manages to somehow turn a profit in Japan despite being a PS2 game with slightly higher res graphics like Binary Domain, will be released there and not localised for the West, and after playing through Yakuzas 3 and 4 this gen, they're welcome to Yakuza 5, and given that Platinum's last effort hasn't been displayed at E3 and Bayonetta 2 cancelled, I think they'll be parting company soon.
I'm sure they'll concentrate on their Pachinko business which makes Sega/Sammy a fortune. Strange world.

If Anarchy Reigns does get a release, you'll probably be able to get it for £15 after two weeks. Seems like actual 'gamers' are in the minority now and Terry, Baz and Gary Call of Duty are where the money is.

Interested now, I really don't like DMC style super stylish hack and slash games (which I assumed this was going to be) but the trailer has me interested plus I love the Metal Gear universe. One of the few series out there for me that hasn't been ruined. The title song reminds of Tears for Fears.

I hope the actual game is good, engaging and interesting and not just a style over substance action game with "PRESS LEFT TRIGGER TO DO THIS SUPER COOL THING!! !", nothing I've seen has suggested this but I'm still cautious. Spent too long playing WoW since my last MGS game because all I could think of was how Kael'thas was talking then I realized it was Raiden.
