I'm a vintage gamer who played Atari back in its glory days, but I can't understand why other people from that era get all excited about a bunch of blocky pixels and barely any sound and only maybe three stages of difficulty. Some really old games (Atari, Colecovision, Intellivision) are entertaining for maybe a few minutes but I can't see myself spending hours in front of the screen. Usually my mind starts to wander after the first minute or so. A lot of older action games like Sonic were awesome but often drove me crazy with frustration because they were so hard, like when I got to the Wing Fortress Zone in Sonic 2, and kept plummeting to my untimely death if my timing was off by a nanosecond. A lot of older games don't have continues or save points and I was lucky not to dissolve into tears if I finally got to the last level boss after about 3 grueling hours of game play only to run out of lives and have to start all over again! There are a lot of older games I do like, such as Bubble Bobble, Q*Bert, Mario, Pac-Man to name a few, but it annoys me when classic game fans trash all modern games.
