Skyrim - I didn't really like the creation system again I felt Humans/Elves just looked lame no matter what you tried to do with them which really put me off playing anything other then Khajit or Ardonian.

Pretty much the same thing for me. I made an Imperial once, but I pretty much stick to Khajit when it comes to Skyrim.

I usually make a guy who usually who uses magic of some sort, dark or black clothes, does the morally correct thing, and perhaps somewhat manipulative. Basically a version of myself.

And I like to do another run as an alternate reality, a girl who is a bit of an assassin, does bad things to get what she wants.

I think that my favourite game I used with these characters was KoTOR,(1 or 2) a good guy who uses force choke, and a pretty young lady corrupted, with a rebreather mask.

In Skyrim I chose the first to be a highelf with magic, especially illusion, but I chose the second to be a female Orc who just wants to smash everything. But I ended up creating also creating a male Kajhit after a character I was writing, he was a somewhat honorable assassin who was fun with a bow. Also created, but not far yet, a breton female summoner I modeled after a character called Lucy from the anime Fairy Tail, if only I could give pink hair and have skills in fists I could do Natsu from the same show, his title from that is a dragon slayer, for similar reasons, I was annoyed at not being able to make red hair for an Erza Scarlet.

I like the idea makeing characters in games from shows like Fairy Tail.

No doubt Saints Row 3 is getting most people's votes on Character Customising but there could be more to add to it.
I dunno if that's because I'm on a console and everyone else is on PC with mods but I personally think it could do more with customising.
I do like the game, just wish there was more.

The first game that I played with a character customization requirement was back on Phantasy Star Online I & II for Gamecube. I was a Humar with the height cranked all the way to the bottom, the black suit color choice, and a green mohawk head option. I would often use the huge, slow, sword type weapon, which made my character look even smaller. A friend found it hilarious. I guess that's why today when I make a weapon choice, it's always the large/two-handed sword.

Let's see... In games like ME, I usually make the character somewhat resemble myself. In games with options of different races, I pick whichever race I see fit... For example, a Kahjit rogue or a wood elf hunter. Same goes for WoW, my main(Death Knight) is a male orc, since I see Orcs and Tauren as the 'warrior' horde race. My warlock is an Undead and all my healers are female. I don't make any female 'offensive' characters either, since that just seems... wrong, to me. Female warriors just don't make any kind of sense. Female mages are OK, I guess, but I still prefer male character for 'combat' roles. Stuff like Belf/Undead/Troll/Goblin warriors/pallies/DKs also seems wrong to me... Why would anyone want a 3 feet tall goblin DK and not a 9 feet tall tauren warrior?

Hands down, the best character creator I've ever used is the one in Champions Online, a superhero MMORPG. Even just playing for free (which is practical - you can play clear to the level cap without ever giving the company a dime), there's such a bewildering array of possible looks for your character that they recently started blocking some of the costume options until your first character reaches 10th level (which only takes a couple of hours anyway).

I recently started a new character on my secondary account (the one I haven't spent anything on, just to prove what can be done). He's an undead archer (Marksman Archetype), using the Zombie flesh appearance wherever possible, named Deadeye.

(He used to be the living hero Bowshot, back in the Nineties. Then in 1992, Dr. Destroyer tried to hold the world hostage with his Meteor Attractor. All the heroes who could go to space went there to stop the incoming asteroids; all the rest went to fight Dr. D in his hideout in Detroit. Turned out Dr. D was a bad loser - his "final" act was to trigger his Orbital Cannon, which fired on Detroit, killing tens of thousands of civilians and dozens of superheroes, including Bowshot.

Then, in 2010, a necromancer named Takofanes used the mystical Blood Moon ritual to summon up the zombified bodies of the dead heroes, to battle the new heroes in the rebuilt Detroit, now called Millennium City. This happened every full moon until October of 2011, when the heroes finally defeated Takofanes himself. The necromancer was forced from this plane - but the late Bowshot remained. Regaining his self-awareness, he renamed himself Deadeye and set out to assist the heroes he had been forced to fight...)

My favorite is the one I use to create Chitheria Tempus characters. Look below to see one I designed:

Quote:
Name: Kalji
Gender: Female
Race: Orc
Age: 16
Facial Structure: Her face is well-defined and has strong cheekbones. Her face is round and her eyes are neither big nor small. The nostrils are close together, and are small.
Hair Style: Her hair is dressed in a ponytail.
Hair Color: Pink
Skin Color: Pale tan
Eye Color: Purple
Height: 4'8"
Weight: 95 lbs
Region: Galunsrak
Background: Born on December the Sixteenth, she learned how to become a battle-priest. After eight years of practice since the age of seven, she was able to go with a group of 200 warriors on her first campaign. It was against the zombie force that was threatening their home. After a month of traveling, they found the foe. Kalji was able to kill eight zombies before she was hit by an arrow. Luckily, it wasn't anything to bad, and Kalji was able to heal it before taking out another.
Then a necro-mage came on the battlefield. He summoned back the archer that hit her. However, Kalji was able to reach him and decapitate both the mage and the archer. Then the enemy turn and ran.
She then turned to her own side. Out of the force, fifteen fell to the zombies and had to be burned. They then came back to their lands.
Once their, they found that the enemy had not ran away, but was regrouping for another attack, this time from a position that would be "acceptable." Then Kalji, with a group of five, including a kobold, goblin, and human, went into a group of hills, to hide from the site of the foe.
They then saw another necromage, accompanied by ten zombie soldiers. Then the goblin, a sniper, shot the necromage straight through the brain with his crossbow. The rest of the zombies turned in the direction of the smaller group. Then the human, who was an infantry man, guarded the kobold, a gunner. Kalji and the other, an orc beserker, charged into the foe.
The kobold shot one of the zombies through the chest while the infantryman chopped the head of another clean off while the gunner was reloading. The goblin sniper shot a zombie about to attack Kalji from behind as she took out a dwarf zombie. The beserker beheaded one zombie soldier before putting one of his axe blades in the chest of another. Soon all of the foes were dead. They then saw another group, this time of fifteen, attacking from behind which the sniper sited. The beserker then charged the foe, slashing and slaying them. Kalji healed the beserker while he did his work. Then none of the monsters were left.
Five months later, the small group joined an elite squad. The scouts had sited a force of five hundred dwarves heading their way. The squad, which had only thirty people in it (not including Kalji and her group), Then moved towards the approaching army's base. As it happened, the dwarves had taken residence in an old fort. Then she, with the squad, scaled the walls and got onto the ramparts. Then the beserker sneaked behind a lookout, and snapped his neck before dumping the body into the moat. Kalji found the sound of the neck snapping and how calm the beserker was about the whole thing disturbing, but nonetheless, she decided not to tell them.
All the squad members beside the kobold gunner, the beserker, the human infantryman, the goblin sniper and Kalji claimed the ramparts secretly. Kalji and her team, meanwhile, got into the central part of the base via the roof. The passage was blocked by ten guards that they caught by surprise. They attacked them, but all fell. They then moved deeper in the base until they arrived upon a window that looked down upon the leader. Kalji then smashed her way in and tackled the general, finishing off him while the beserker silenced the guard. Then they looked out at the passage that one of the doors look out off. Then the beserker silently opened the door and chopped the head off one of the guards that was near it. The other guard, who was surprised, was killed by the goblin. Then they sneaked out into their land again.
In travel time, it took them four months to reach the fort and then come back again. After a month, Kalji started to feel strange. She then realized that she was pregnant when she told her temple leader how she felt. After her birthday and three months, she gave birth. Since she doesn't want to leave fighting, the child is in the care of her mother.

Yes, you might whine:"But that's all text! I don't like that!" Well tough. Usually, this is the best way to generate some one.

I play females nearly all the time. In The Elder Scrolls if I'm an Argonian or Khajit I have to be male, the girls... Their chests bother me.

My characters tend to be stealthy. I just love sneaking around. One character in particular I can tell you about. She's from Skyrim, her name is Ro, and she's a Redguard. She is a Dark Brotherhood assassin. So one of the most important events in her lifetime was when she came back from a kill and (SPOILER) found the sanctuary on fire, and nearly all her family dead. (END SPOILER) And another important event was when she married Marcurio. She suffers from a lot of guilt due to a terrible disaster years ago and has since had a drinking problem...

I've put a lot of thought into her since she's the first character I created in The Elder Scrolls, but I'll stop.
