Ah, ok. The majority of my experience of WoW is from a PvP perspective. Most of the PvEing I did was back in Vanilla when there was no such thing as PvP gear except whatever you could find with lots of stamina on it (the old warlock dreadmist set was good for this, it's what my priest used back in those days).

If you played much Warcraft 2 and 3, the old female trolls used to be way cooler.

That's how Samwise (if you're any kind of Blizzard fan you'll know that guy) envisioned them, but they barbie-dolled them after the WoW beta.

That's actually REALLY cool BUT I had to stare at that picture for 20 seconds or see just to see it was female. I agree that the barbie doll trolls are bad but the picture you linked really looks just like a dude, except with pecs that aren't quite pecs. The breasts really blended in well with the muscles, which is kind of odd. I think the best thing they could do for female trolls is to 1: improve the lack of blinking 2: Crank down the major sexual dimorphism between male and females but not to the point where they look identical. At the very least that girl troll's lips look way too much like a male troll. I think tauren females are a very good example of how to do it.

And hurrah I fixed my internet problem today. Hopefully I'll finish patching the beta tonight!

UPDATE- I got the beta working, pet battling is FRICKIN SWEET. Its just like pokemon, its so fun and the WC2 music that plays during pet fights is awesome. I will surely be buying this expansion now. It really feels just like how a pokemon mmo would be because you have to find wild pets before other players and you can challenge them to battles as well.

You might be more a fan of the old models they had for female trolls.

More recognizably female, I'll admit! This pic has the old tauren models too, although I'm sure it's rather indisputable that the female Tauren ended up better off:

That said.....I sure hope the monthly fee is worth a WoWified version of pokemon!

I'll get back into WoW once I get my real computer working again. However I'm not optimistic about the changes to Warlocks.

I played around a bit with demo. I heard everything but destro is in pretty good shape, affliction is still the best single target but I don't know a lot about the rotation/priority list. Honestly, I really want to main my warlock again for this expansion so as long as they tone down arcane mage to the point that I don't feel completely gimped for playing a harder class I'll be happy. They've removed a lot of buttons, which is a good thing IMO. My keybindings were awful on my lock.

I think I'm more interested in pet battles and possibly challenge modes than anything else. I really like a ton of the new cosmetic stuff, like the new mounts are frickin awesome looking.

I have beta access I just don't want to test on a crappy computer. I tested Affliciton and Demo out in the early beta and mana use was horrible. I was tapping all the time and the poor healer could barely keep me topped off. This is one of the things that worries me because I still remember healers yelling at me for tapping too much in vanilla. The irony is you might get more people to play Warlocks because of all the cool changes but, no one wants to take them to raids because they are a liability on the healers mana. Then we're right back in the same possition we've been in for the last 2 years. Nowdays, I just take a wait and see aproach to WoW. I've been jerked around too many times by the developers to put my hopes on them. I'll just figure it out when it's done and, if I can make it work.

I tried a bit of demo earlier and I actually liked how (relatively) simplified it seemed. I'm still not 100% on the priority but I love how meta works now like a stance you build up energy for then POOF. Affliction I've heard mixed things about and destro is supposedly kind of bad now but that's all subject to change. I think you have the right attitude, about waiting. I'm probably throwing too much hope out there, I just miss playing my warlock and was having decent enough fun on the beta. Honestly ,what I've seen of affliction (just reading on another forum) sounds kind of confusing but I think demo is in a pretty good place, unless I'm doing things horribly wrong. I would ideally like to see all 3 specs doing nicely like how mages are, arcane and fire are both viable but different and frost is the best pvp spec but the others are doable.

Pet battles are very addictive, but its a bummer that I've captured two rares that I won't get to keep :?. I'm not quite sure if you get to ever re-battle npc trainers and I believe you can only have 3 to a team (I thought it was 5 for some reason). Its the best mini-game Blizz has ever made though and its very good, I just hope they keep adding pets, skills and attempt to balance it. Considering all the work they've put into it they probably will.

I don't get it why does this have a trigger warning? I don't think WOW is really going to shock anyone that bad...no offense, just don't get it.

I had an 80 UD priest and 80 UD rogue before I quit. Good times with those two...I'm fairly certain that the most fun I ever had playing WoW was leveling up my rogue in STV on a PvP server during Vanilla. That place was like Viet-f****-nam, and I loved it. I could spend hours stalking the jungle and ganking allis. Ashenvale Forest gets a special mention here, especially with the music (I have it on mp3 and still listen to it). As well, it was the first real contested zone you got to get down and dirty in too. Lotta dead Night Elves!

Haha, i didn't get into wow until BC ( although bought the game on the opening weekend), i know exactly what you mean. Especially with stealth stalking through stv (i love feral druids). I quite liked hillsbrad too. It took me literally 6 months to go from like level 60 to level 70 because i couldn't drag myself away and was enjoying the challenge of ganking level 70s.

Did you ever have trouble justifying your ganking though? I used to restrict myself to guilds i didn't like / personal feuds/ i'd ask in local defence if people were having trouble. I'd stalk any ally i saw to see if they ganked low levels, then the moment they attacked i'd jump in. I got quite a reputation on my home realm for being a ganker though which was annoying, i preferred the label " ethical ganker" :).

Got that on my very first solo run in wrath, the only other time i'd done it previously was for my 5 k flyer quest chain for my swift flight form. Hogs are sweeter.

The main thing im looking for in MOP is trying a panda monk, i really wanna try some melee kung fu. I love stealth leather stunning classes but i hate the vulnerability to someone getting the drop on you while you're in stealth, the loss of an opener can be quite painful. I think that the monks melee combat style of play but without the stealth could be right up my street.

I steered clear of the beta this time, i tried it for cata and it kinda ruined the experience for me.

Its a joke.

Some people play World of Warcraft so much that they become so addicted to the point where if they see pictures or hear music from the game they want to resub.

Ha, i've never heard the music of wow in however many years of playing, I played online fps games before wow so by the time i got to wow i found in game music too distracting.

I play music if I'm pvping, but I liked a lot of the music in BC and WOTLK.

I'm kind of getting that feeling now, it definitely feels more "fun" than cata beta though. I think that's because everyone really wanted to see the lore and how the world was going to be changed so if you did beta first it was kind of ruined on live because you were bored with the new questing, which was what Cata was really about. With this expansion I don't care much about the lore but the class changes are interesting to play with and there's cool stuff like pet battles, which are a great, slower paced casual friendly type of game. I'm having to force myself not to hop on to my beta character and catch more because I know ill have to do it all over again on live.

On the other hand it really sucks going back to live without the class changes and new stuff. I really hope 5.0 comes out SOON but I know it won't be until after the MOP cinematic is shown at the expo event on the 15th (or 16th?). I'd really like to see challenge modes, I haven't done any of the actual 85-90 questing because that's probably the one thing I will be least excited about. I will say though that Pandaria is very beautiful, like Northrend was. I thought the Cataclysm zones were pretty boring, sorry.

I did get a lot of fun from the underwater zones in cata, especially where it gets really deep, cept maybe having a druid and having use of aquatic form( which is basically swift flight form that can be used in combat for those zones) might have made a difference to my perception, i guess it could have been quite annoying despite the graphics if you weren't quite as mobile as a druid. The rest were pretty boring though yeah.

I do like the slight style change of mop, i've seen that golden dragon mount that's in the chinese style and it's nicely refreshing.

Good to see that the legacy of STV lived on after Vanilla. Now, as for justifying ganking people? My own entertainment was all I needed, really. I would generally not mess with anyone more than 10 levels below me, that's about the only thing that would ever save you from my knives or a facemelting. And even then sometimes it was pretty lulzy to kill them anyway and then watch them log onto their mains for revenge. Skull dodging was another art of mine.

Now, IF you were in my level range, you would have probably hated me any time you stepped into an active contested zone. I was relentless. I would kill you, and kill you, and kill you. I would stalk you and camp your corpse until you either logged, spirit rezzed, or best of all....called for help. Then, when your help came, the hordies I had been chatting up in /1, warned that a bunch of pissed allis looking for a fight were liable to roll in soon, were ready to engage them in glorious, brutalizing world PvP. Tichondrius, f**k yea!

Well now I see where all of my effort went!

I wonder where the monk is gonna fit into everything. Between all of the current classes and the multitude of talent specs, what are monks supposed to be bringing that's new? I've seen the roll thing, but that's not really all that impressive...

For those that care: MOP release date has been revealed to be September 25th. There will be a physical collector's edition for the usual 79$ that includes the usual artbook, dvd, etc and a special pet and mount. Unlike previous collector's editions a digital download option will be available for 60$. If you want to just go for the regular digital edition (not sure on price) do not despair because you will be given the option later on to upgrade to the collector's edition for 20$.

Very glad to have a release date and I'm thankful its not November or December. Less than a month after GW2, I hope 5.0 hits relatively soon though.
