The whole soundtrack of the CRPG Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura. The game is a mix between steampunk and Tolkien's Middle-Earth and the soundtrack played by a string quartet really helps set the mood:

- Towns;

- Villages (one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard);

- Isle of Despair;

- Mines (reminds me of the Psycho soundtrack);

- Combat/Dwarven Theme;

- Tulla (looks like something from the Middle East).

There are more songs. I recommend you to listen to them all. in fact, you should play that game. Now.

I used to look into video game music for ideas for my ambient bass playing but have since stopped...although when I did like soundtracks I often went with Dragon Ball Z instrumentals (Bruce Falcouner is an awesome composer,) Earthbound (final boss music is insane haha) and Dragon Age (interesting experimentation.)
