you can do pretty much anything you want,

its basically a large .lua and expression 2 IDE with a fully simulated virtual enviroemnt, you can make everything from trebuchets to fully articulated airplanes using the in game materials and fixtures(think rotary bearings , engines, pistons and the like, they dont come in pre defined lengths either, everything can be customized)

the coding is used by people to create new parts with complex behavior, like ai spawners that adhere to teams, so you can make a skirmish match of you and your friends against a giant antlion army, with all of your defenses being programmed using logic gates, .lua and expression, with their physical form created and welded together in game.

i never used it for creating videos(not that there is anything wrong with that, banaphone be brilliant, jsut never apealed to me as much as the building), i built automated laser turrets with auto targetting features and point defens lasers for spaceships, the spaceships themselves and quite a lot of different pointless yet funny contraptions(my rotary melon rapid fire launcher was fun, could chuck 6-7 melons in 10 seconds for hundreds of meters, with lethal results against a swarm of zombies)

there are mp servers using spacebuild where the whoel goal is building and fighting in starships, sometimes on a massive scale, with auto guided missiles, drones, flak barrages and huge railguns thundering away at the bases below, whole solar systems at that.

maybe we should create a small server for the fun of it, i have a physical server that could run a decent 8 person game.

Yeah. Don't spend a lot of time on it, because it's easy to want to start a big project on Gmod and then spend way too much time on it when you can be doing other productive things. :lol:

i think it was a comment on how little activity this thread got compared to the content.

i just started a new project in gmod :o

it seems my old advanced duplicator dupes were saved in my steam folder, this means i can start chainging together my PD turrets to a centralized fire control,
so far im still getting used to gmod again "please deposit a baby in the baby collection tub"


i spent most of today testing how many missiles it would take to overwhelm a pd turret, it seems to be 2 at a time from a range of 200m, 3 at 400 and 6 at 600, i think the reason for the drastic improvement at long range is due to the missiles bunching up as they move closer towards a point, the spread of the turret combined with the flight time apearantly means that its effectivenes with range is almost squared.
