It isn't exactly a FPS, but I would recommend Dishonored.

You know, they DO have TF2 on the Xbox. Sheesh.

Yes, however they said they prefer shooters with story, and not focusing on the online component. Multiplayer is all TF2 is. I am not saying it is a bad game, I have certainly played it a lot, but it isn't the kind of game they were looking for.

Update on that, if you do play it, keep looking up, and max Blink.

Fair enough. In that case, I would suggest that everyone read the OP's post, because many of the other suggested games do not fit the OP's categories either.

I've only started getting into gaming this summer and have now played through the portal, half life and bioshock series. Last time I asked someone at a game store for suggestions they opened with "I can think of some girl-friendly RPGs" and that pretty much lost me then and there. I like first-person-shooters mostly, with no online components and some semblance of a plot. Also, if this is any help I have a mac and a xbox 360. any suggestions are incredibly welcome, thanks.

I would have sucker punched the moron , I bet he plays dudebro games like Halo or Call of Booty on "normal" settings if you want to show of your bro-ness just play Metro 2033 or Far Cry 2 on the hardest settings, :D dude bro guys are the ones that are ruining it for the real gamers of this world it's thanks to these guys the upcoming Tomb Raider game has turned from a much loved niche franchise :D to a dude bro survival horror whateverwhocares ?

So I'm effeminate because I  Eternal Sonata , Kingdom Hearts, Persona, and ( cant's wait) for ni no kuni aka "spirited and away" try saying that to my face Dude bro guy , I need to make allowances for children I suppose <30 I assume he was less than that age when was the last time you saw a grown up server at a video games shop?

Have you ever tried "Cthulhu Saves the World"? It is a really fun RPG game with the same humor you will find in Earthbound. I'm doing a Let's Play on it and I really enjoy it. The game only costs a couple buck too!
