i hate that they are rushed out half finished and largely unpolished now, times past we wouldnt even know a game was planned until it was actually 90% done, lately developers have been putting out what amounts to betas you have to play in

games used to be purely about fun, now they are about drawing in the biggest demographic

It's probably just me, but many of the new ones aren't any fun to me.

My only gripe with PC games is that devs in general have been performing very poorly
when it comes to optimizing their game for different computer specs for a few years now.

For example when I tried to play Borderlands 2 on my freshly installed Windows 7 and it ran below 30fps while spiking down to 10fps during battles.
But on my Win XP (dual boot) it runs smooth 60fps everywhere. When I tried to ask for help from their "helpful" support, all I get is a
"f**k you and wait for a patch". Normally I would be fine with this, but it takes from half to a full year until they patch it.
I usually just fix the problems myself by using Google.

This is why I'm so nervous when pre-ordering on Steam, but it pisses me the f**k off that I can't get the pre-order bonuses otherwise :(
I sometimes pirate games to try them out on my comp to see how it runs, but once in awhile the games run better when pirated... go figure~

Well if you are playing it on Windows 7, newer games are going to be using DirectX10/11 and that is going to affect performance. Windows XP only does DirectX9, even on the latest games. Plus newer operating systems tend to have higher requirements for themselves, so I wouldn't blame that on the game or the game developer.

I dislike the other players in an MMORPG. They're so busy levelling and acquiring the best armor, weapons, and mounts/starships, that they have no time for teamwork and socializing.

Yeah ... the graphics can be a little choppy, too.

Games with great stories are almost completely gone...

Seems like all people care about is graphics these days, along with ripping off previously-successful games.

I will admit, the former bugs me mostly because my computer sucks, but when a machine that meets the "minimum requirements" barely scratches 10 FPS on the lowest graphics settings, there's a problem.

I pretty much hate pc gaming anymore after having Dark Souls randomly stop working then having to spend 3 hours to find fan-made bugfixes and other files only to finally get DS working again but at 20 fps. That's my experience with 90% of pc games. I love playing Baldurs Gate and Planescape Torment on my pc but it seems like every other game I play has some horrible bug that needs fan-patches, which often don't work properly. In general I just don't like having to configure a ton of stuff just to get a game to run optimally. I'll settle for compromised graphics and resolution for stability. That's the stance I've taken most recently in regards to pc gaming. Seems like most of the stuff that gets released lately is half-baked console ports anyway and the only pc exclusive games I'm interested in anymore, Pillars of Eternity and Tree of Savior, could run fine on a laptop.

I hate how mobas basically killed Starcraft II.

....if you're having THAT many problems with PC gaming, there's a really high chance there's something off about your PC. PC gaming is basically all I do, with hundreds of games (and I buy them FREQUENTLY, heck I bought like 4 in the last week), and.... problems are extremely rare for me, except for wacky glitches in some Early Access game.

Usually if game after game is having wonky issues for someone, there's something on the PC interfering, whatever that may be.

Configuring though should be easy... most games have presets to choose from, instead of forcing you to change every tiny little option yourself.

I don't like how I need the internet or multiplayer features in order to fully experience a game, even Animal Crossing New Leaf and Tomadachi Life. I don't know anyone else at all who owns a 3DS or those games, so I can't visit their virtual towns. I need a friend list ion order to visit a faraway town in AC:NL. How do I even make friends with people who live faraway? Go on AC's website maybe?? Only one of my Mii's children has left the island to see the world but I don't know when or if they're coming back to give me imported stuff. So far I've only linked using Streetpass by carrying my 3DS around with me.

I also hate how the loading time is so long in The Sims 3. Sometimes I'm reluctant to play it just because it takes forever to save my game, switch to a different town, wait for all the colors and patterns to appear when I'm customizing clothes and furniture, or travel to another country using the World Adventures pack. I read it's because of the color customization that loading takes so long. The Sims 4 takes less time because they took it out but it sucks that you can't customize. I don't get why loading would be so long in this day and age. :(

- Microtransactions.
- Games that are clearly lacking content to justify DLCs.
- Games that are all about graphics.
- Pay $60 (R$180,00 for me) for a game that lasts for 5~8 hours.

I can't stand the whole must be online and micro-transactions thing. I would rather just pay the damn money upfront once so I can escape from this world for a few hours. Seems like many games are starting to feel like a job: one full time job is more than enough for me!

I also can't stand the CONSTANT updates I have to do. I'm getting sick of being used as an unpaid beta tester!

I hate the general focus on multiplayer. With the exception of competitive fighting games I don't play any multiplayer games. Games like Titanfall and Evolve I will completely miss because they are essentially multiplayer only.

Overhyped releases
Lack of good storylines
DLC (sometimes most of the game has to be purchased online)
Bug filled releases (before the current era of downloadable patches it actually mattered to developers)
Everything is multiplayer
Constant internet access being required
The costs and letdowns resulting from the above
The thought that Big Brother (NSA) is watching me.

What happened to the days when you got a game, put it in, and automatically got to the start screen without dealing with most of the above?

The main selling point being graphics.
