Being mesmerised by Shadow Of The Beast demos in our local computer game shop - I was sick for an Amiga but couldn't afford one. Hours of staring at loading screens, listening to Spectrum tape loading squealing. Even more hours playing Rick Dangerous II, Bionic Commando and Power Drift on my C64. And my favourite game of the era, Xenon II Megablast. Just for the awesome powerups and the Bomb the Bass soundtrack.

What about the shopkeeper? His voice always made me laugh ( I was 5-7 at the time). I would make him keep talking on and on. :P The powerup mechanic was awesome, the further you went the stronger you got. I always chose 4 of those.. er.. laser things as companions.

I'm not really sure I understand the concept of nostalgia. I hear about how it apparently makes old stuff even better, but I just don't see that? Then again, I guess it might be because I play my favorite games all the time regardless of how old or new they are. There's no need to reminisce when I can play them at any time...well, except for certain games like Goldeneye or Donkey Kong 64, but I did have the chance to play them again a while back and the controls were very hard to get used to again.

I wouldn't exactly say that it makes old stuff better, but it makes old stuff seem better. I've heard so many people say in gaming communities "a few years back this community was much better". In some of the cases this was true, but in most cases people think it was better in the older days due to nostalgia. They only think about the positive things back then and forget about the negative.

Many games evoke nostalgia for their amazing soundtracks!

Space Harrier and Quartet's main themes are just thrilling - even on the Sega Master System's terrible 3-note synthesizer. ;)

Most of the Amiga music gives me an instant nostalgic feeling.

When my Nintendo 64 still worked, I had a South Park 64 cartridge. Whenever I wasn't playing Story Mode in that game, I was playing multiplayer with my brother. We uncovered a variety of crazy glitches. There was only three that I currently remember. I've never seen anyone upload a video on YouTube showing any of these glitches (or maybe I'm not looking hard enough) because I would love to see them one more time.

Infinite Mr. Hankey glitch - Kill Player two or whoever and make sure he gets knocked into a Mr. Hankey item. He will respawn with Mr. Hankey and it won't go away. Rinse and repeat until you have so many circling Player Two. The Mr. Hankeys CAN and WILL hurt you so approach Player two with caution. Kill Player Two then get out the Dart Gun and switch to secondary weapon. Launch the rockets at the army of Mr. Hankeys circling an empty space where Player Two once stood. Keep firing until you reach a good number of hits. Respawn Player Two and watch him fly. He'll come back down...eventually.

Teleporting Sniper Chicken Glitch - Find the Sniper Chicken and use the Dart Gun secondary weapon on it. It'll respawn but keep at it. If it doesn't respawn in the same area immediately after several hits, then it respawned somewhere else. Go look for it and keep it up. Sometimes, you'll spot it floating in the air. WARNING: This will make the game freeze if you keep it up so do at your own risk.

Forever Fart Doll Nuke Glitch - Get the Terrance and Phillip dolls and switch to the red one. Get player two to help you because this will take awhile to get it to work. Launch all 40-80 dolls (20 each player depending on who you have with you to help) onto whatever location you want then someone has to activate the dolls. The explosion will lag the game terribly. If the explosion is still there, then you did it right. The gas will not hurt you but it will be stupid to walk in because of the lag and you can't see where you're going. Believe it or not, I actually got this to work on Story Mode on the emulator.

I wouldn't recommend playing Story Mode once this glitch is in effect. Try it then start a new game. This glitch will limit how many dolls you can throw, how many you can explode at once, and how many you can have on screen. I've concluded a limit of 3 explosions.

If anyone manages to find a video showing the other two glitches, please show me. Thanks!

Me and my brother regularly staying up all night to beat every NES game we owned or borrowed from friends. We beat lots of difficult games together including weird obscure and frustrating games like Back to the Future II and III, Mission Impossible, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rocket Ranger, and all without using any walkthroughs (we didn't have the Internet back then anyway).

Playing great NES, SNES, N64, and Genesis titles because I happened to simply enjoy the game and learn it has a lot of replay value such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World, and Donkey Kong Country.

I also love the good future soundtrack from the Japanese/European version of Sonic CD whenever I play the Metallic Madness Zone. It reminds me that I have accomplished something important that made it into a great future with a positive outlook on life.

There was a racing game that dealt with Nickelodeon characters that bring me back memories from when I played it. (It was on the PC.) Plus it was my first racing game.

I remember SSBM like it was yesterday. I had got it for my 7th birthday, (because the box art looked cool) and I remember slowly by slowly getting better at it. (I STILL remember my first fight against a level 9 computer. I barely won the SD.)

I also remember getting Crash Team Racing, Spyro 3, and Sonic R (for PC.) for Christmas when I was either 4 or 5. I was stuck in my room that day! (Until Sonic R, of course.)

As a kid I think my fondest memories are whenever I actually beat a game and saw the ending. I was always competing with my older brother who loved to drive me crazy when he beat a game we both liked before me. One of my favorites was getting the best ending to Bubble Bobble for the NES, which was insanely hard because my brother and I had work together to get that crystal ball and then go to the secret door before they both vanished in a few seconds. In that version of Bubble Bobble you would get a sound and music test only after getting the true ending and after the credits roll. I tape-recorded some of the tunes back then because I knew I'd have to start over once I turned the NES off...
