In my case, as I prefer not to replay games, I'd rather complete the game from the first go if possible. And that's where my gaming problem is. I MUST complete the game perfectly or else, in my mind, I didn't really satisfactorily beat it.

I power grind in RPG's, and try to stay a level above what's recommended, if possible. I will usually get whatever achievements I can over the course of the main game, but don't go out of my way to get weird ones, unless it is fun to do so.

No not really. I may discover that I get a achievement but not that much.

If by that, you mean spend hours deleting viruses on the Megaman StarForce Trilogy to complete my battle card Library (Card Grinding so to speak) for a Star Completion and get one step closer to facing an even more powerful version of the final boss because I don't want to make things too easy by activating the Action Replay Code to give me all the cards, then yes. :)

I always wanted to do good at any game however I never put too much effort in things like completing the game or winning the points championship, I usually only cared about that stuff if the game was easy for me then I did it becouse I could and so I could say I did. Real life can be quite different though.

I generally like to get the achievements in games. I just never can play them long enough to get everything. For me it is more about doing everything and seeing everything in a game. But I rarely ever get to finish the long ones. I played Skyrim twice and never finished anything really. None of the quest lines or even the main quest line. I did almost get all the map markers the first playthrough which I clocked in time wise about 80 hours. It takes that long especially if you fully explore each location! I am a completionist but not quite getting everything. Kind of an oxymoron.

Honestly I tried to get a lot of the achievements when I played WOW but honestly I hate that game now. Total time waster. Plus that is one game I probably literally get addicted to playing 12 hours a day. Not what I want to be doing!

Achievements are good if you want to get more out of a game you already played but they can seriously limit your ability to finish the game if you get all "gung ho" about it on the first playthrough especially in the longer RPGs. At least that is how I am.

Honestly I have not been playing games that much anymore. I think the novelty is starting to wear off after like 25 years! I am 33 so it just does not hold the same wonder it used to.

I'm not really a completionist when it comes to achievements, but I like to basically try to try to overpower my character/team in most RPGs I play. An achievement has to give me some sort of tangible effect or up my power level, or at least give me something really neat to watch/experience on its own merits (fighting a super boss counts here because that's usually fun for me) in order for me to be interested in doing it. In MMOs I rarely even look at the achievements tab because I'm not interested in doing something just to get a label under my character's name.
