I do NES, SNES, and PS1 emulation.

I never really got into arcade games or anything pre-NES.

I don`t play emulators. I also think that they are stupid They rip off good companies like
Nintendio that spent a long time and high production costs. They can also put companies
in bankruptcy because no one cares to buy games because they can get them for free.

Get ZSNES, I have it and it's great.

I love the old FF games for SNES.

The PS1 games I play in the emulator are all games I own. I prefer playing them in the emulator because of the better graphics quality and savestates.

With ROM-based emulators, it's open to debate. Nintendo and Sega don't manufacture NES, Genesis, or SNES games anymore. They have no possibility of getting a profit from something they don't sell. Additionally, you would have to track down the cart you wanted to play, and hope it worked in your system. Even then, the money only goes into the hand of the reseller, not the developer.

I use to do emulators, but with all the garbage you have to search through to get working emulators and roms (and no spyware), it's kinda not worth it in the end. I did get to play FFIII translated before it came to the US though, so I guess that wasn't so bad.

I've played a couple of games on emulators, but the only one I've ever completed is Chrono Trigger. Kind of hard to get used to using a keyboard for games meant to be played on consoles.

That's why I used a PS2 controller for my emulator.

I wish I could find old Sega-style controllers, because one of my uncles found a way to plug them into the computer and use them.

This was back in the 90's but still........you can get control pads for the computer right??

I´ve seen devices that plug in between the computer and the controller and then they can be used like regular windows controllers. Not for any sega controllers though. Good luck finding one.

If you´ll decide to use a regular computer pad, I´d recommend this one. It´s what I use and it´s been working well. In fact, I prefer it over my PS2 controller. 8O
