my mom played all the animal crossing games with me up until new leaf.
I'm thinking about giving her my old 3ds for Christmas and getting new leaf for her since she talks about missing those games. My mom did actually buy a ps3 for herself with her own money about a year ago (I already have one)
and was playing a little bit of heavy rain and different stuff but she never really played much its mostly for Netflix.
We did have fun playing rayman origins together though.
The only game my dad has ever been into was solitare lol.

My mum plays no video games at all. My dad isn't that much of a gamer either, but he quite likes games like Space Invaders. He also likes Tomb Raider.

Mum none, Dad used to play some games on the home computer when we first got it. Text adventures as I recollect. Since then nothing.

What are some games your parents play?

My parents aren't really huge gamers but they have played a few titles over the years.

My mom loves the Might & Magic series but doesn't like the newer ones from Ubi Soft very much. Her favorites are Heroes of Might & Magic 2: Gold, Heroes of Might & Magic 3: Complete, Might & Magic VI, VII, VIII. Other games she has played is Stronghold, Majesty, Myst, and Schizm.

My dad doesn't really play games but he loved Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny back in the Dos days but hates anything horror related so never got into Doom. He has no interest in the new Wolfenstein: The New Order, but he occasionally plays Return to castle Wolfenstein. He plays Heroes of Might & Magic 3: Complete with my mom sometimes but unfortunately that games multiplayer seems really broken.

Spanish M4dre plays poker and solitaire. Large man plays not.

These days my parents only play phone/iPad games – like Solitaire, slots and mahjongg.

Back when I was growing up though, our whole family REALLY liked playing Donkey Kong Country together on the SNES. We used to have great fun on that game. Dad also liked playing Mario Bros, as well.

Even though we had at maybe one new console or computer every decade - Atari 2600, Commodore 64, NES, Sega Genesis - My mom was never even remotely interested in video games until she started playing puzzles like Bejeweled and bookworm on her computer. I guess women really are more into "casual" games, huh?

My dad used to sometimes play this hockey game made by EA for the Genesis with my brother. I don't remember the name of it, but it was really well made, if you're into hockey/sports games anyway. Before The Sims I would not have cared less.

A few years back my parents actually got an Xbox. One time my parents and I all played Sega All-stars Racing. I was so surprised by how enjoyable it actually was. I had warned mom it was probably no good because it only cost $20 but then afterwards I bought a copy for my Wii. Now the Xbox is just sitting in the basement and hasn't been played in forever. I wish sometimes they'd just let me have it. Maybe then I'll finally get to play Sonic Generations.

My mom plays Animal Crossing, but won't touch anything else aside from Candy Crush. It's a shame because she used to like stuff like Yoshi and Kirby when I was a kid.

My dad used to play a lot of Mario Kart 64 with me. He was also into Gran Turismo for a while, which I always found boring even though we both like car stuff.

My mom mostly plays random MMORPGs nowadays, but I'm not sure what my dad's been playing. I know he used to be really big on WoW and Hearthstone, as well as the Diablo series. My mother also used to be big into console gaming, mainly preferring action-adventure titles like Zelda and Ratchet & Clank, as well as JRPGs, and my dad was a big PC gamer in the 90s and 2000s.

Probably. There used to be a lot of great bargain bins back in the day...I remember they used to have Gold Box EA games for $2 each, we snagged a ton of them.

My mom has only ever enjoyed gaming on mobile devices for some reason. I tried to get her into consoles. No interest.

She has only ever put more than 10 hours into 3 games over the past 32 years. Tetris (gameboy), Words with friends (ios) and candy crush (ios). I think she must have about 3500-4000 hours in Candy Crush. She plays several hours every day and has been playing since it released.

She is very interested in airplanes. Tried to get her into FSX. Nope. Interested in driving. Tried to get her into Gran Turismo. Nope. Interested in RPGs, tried to get her into Zelda, nope. However, Ocarina of Time was the only game she ever watched me play and enjoyed from that standpoint.

She briefly tried to get into the original Super Mario on NES back in the 80s but kept dying at the first gumba and gave it up.

I'd like to get her into more games. I got her into the Sims for awhile but she got bored after about 10 hours and never touched it again.

Immersive games with depth are no fun to her. She likes shallow, repetetive, easy to pick up, lame-o games.

She is the definition of an uber casual gamer.
