You wouldn't be working alone. It takes a whole team to make a video game. You could always write the story for the game.

Get a copy of RPG maker. It's pretty easy to use, with a little practice.

The rome total realism team numbered to over 100
and sega employs around 200 people to make 1 of their games
maybe some-one here on wp could help you

Hey, you know what. I was thinking of becoming a video games designer so I have some ideas for games. I don't know how to make RPG's though, I use GameMaker to make my games.

Game Maker Page

I can make a Zelda style game using this package but I'm not sure about a full on RPG. You'd have to make millions of rooms, some duplicates of other rooms, one for each entrance, and then millions of battle screens for each enemy. It's good for maze games and linear adventure games but it might not be good for RPG's.

Plus, you can upload your games online for other people to play them, check them out on the url provided.

Thanks for that link! That's free, and sounds interesting. I really should try designing a game, but I can't get motivated enough to do it.
