Okay, other games....

Dark Chronicle (aka Dark Cloud 2, someone mentioned the final battle, which I've yet to reach)

Halloween (Boss fight against Halloween)

Crazy Buggy (Boss fight against the ATV)

Battle for the Future (Generic boss battle fight)

Stella Temple (Theme of an area)

Sun (Fight against the first form of Emperor Griffin. This music made an impression on me...)

Devil May Cry 1

Flock Off! (Griffin fight)

Ultra Violet (Nelo Angelo fight)

Devil May Cry 3

Devils Never Cry

The three Vergil Battle themes (I call the last one 'One-Winged Devil')

Kingdom Hearts I and II

Squirming Evil (one of the many boss battle musics in the original)

This is Halloween (an excellent remix of Danny Elfman's song, albeit without lyrics...)

Forze del Male (The excellent music during the fight against Riku/Ansem)

Guardando nel Buio (The final boss music of the original)

Dance to the Death (Boss fight in II)

Legacy of Kain

Ozar Midrashim (This is actually a piece of music from an album by Information Society. It forms the opening music of Soul Reaver, and heard in both that and Defiance)

Legend of Zelda

The Overworld Theme (classic, innit?)

Medievil I and II

The Graveyard theme (I)

The Time Device (a quaint and jaunty, yet sinister number, which I nicknamed 'A Clockwork Lemon', from the original)

Tyrannosaurus Wrecks/The Ripper (two versions of the same boss music from the second game)

The Demon (final boss music)

That's it for the time being....

Here's a link which contains the soundtrack to the latest Zelda game as well as other Zelda soundtracks.

My personal favourite is Hyrule Field. When you get on your horse in TP, it sounds even better. Also, check out Death Mountain, the remix of the Goron theme sounds better in TP than OoT. (While you're there, you can compare the two music tracks and decide which sounds better)

Also, I didn't include any Final Fantasy music in my list because I've never played Final Fantasy. From now on, when people list their favourite music, could they include the track on this thread? Failing that, a link to a web page containg the soundtrack (do this if you like the whole soundtrack to the game).

Probably world of warcraft.

As far as Classic Console Games, The original Zelda had some really cool stuff. So did Megaman.

I also liked some of the background music in the original Tecmo Bowl Football.

Check out Galbadia Hotel to download game soundtracks--it has a LOT of them. Generally these things can't be bought, so as far as I know it doesn't break any laws, especially not if you've bought the game....

For me the best standalone tracks are from Final Fantasy VI (Terra's Theme) and VII (Main Theme). There's lots of other music in games I like, but these are ones that I'd care to listen to outside of the game.

Here is another website that contains the all the music in the Zelda games, I like Queen Rutela's theme.

My favorite game music comes from Ogre Battle and its sequel Tactics Ogre (the father of the Final Fantasy Tactics combat system)

Well of course, it's the same tune as Ocarina of Time's Serenade of Water, except like Death Mountain it sounds better than it's OoT counterpart.

Unfortunately the track list didn't work on my computer (stupid slow computer, MUST GET BROADBAND), it loaded the list but there was nothing on there.

I also like the Pokémon theme tune and the battle music (all of them, especially the ones in Red and Blue) Pyramid Cave in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (the last decent Sonic game before Sonic and the Secret Rings) Levitated Ruin: High and Broken (SATSR, the only level music without lyrics).
