Pop in Halo and blast some aliens. Does the trick for me.

I'm getting the boring feeling as well. I'm not sure why.

World of Warcraft: Tried it again recently after a week-long absence. Think it has finally become boring to me. Story is still good though, but not a reason to keep playing.

Heroes of the Storm: Fun for a while, but not so much anymore.

Overwatch: Still somewhat fun, but only in small doses (sessions).

Warframe: See above.

Destiny 2: Tried it for a bit. Didn't appeal. Now semi-regret buying it.

CoD Black Ops 3: Almost made my PC crap itself. When that passed, I was bored with the campaign early on.

Runescape: Tried this again after more than a decade. Only played it a short time before uninstalling the client.

Skyforge: Tried it again after months of absence. Just as lame as the first time I tried it.

I was gonna try Guild Wars 2 again, but some suspicious authentication issue popped up. Don't even remember having SMS authentication installed. Even so, the number must be going to an old number, so that's that for GW2.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey will be of interest, but it won't be forever. I'll enjoy it for a time and then probably never play it again, just like I have with Origins.

I get where you're coming from with the feeling of boredom. Very few if any games can hold my interest long term now. It's almost sad.

I think the purpose of this thread is to evaluate what my interests really lie in, especially under the value of what is "good" and what isn't. I've been rediscovering Deus Ex again by watching some videos regarding it and I think it's starting to click. The same can't be said for the Fallout franchise, however, since that's been long dead to me after Bethesda ruined it to the ground.

But suggestions of me playing other games isn't going to help either, especially when one of the reasons as to why I'm replying back to this thread now is because after a Gamestop thread featured Santa Claus playing Fortnite, I knew something was dead wrong:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zo4FrFnszY

I mean, we've already had Thanos earlier this year so having Santa Claus being involved, especially when the Christmas spirit within America has basically died out with everyone saying happy holidays nowadays (though that's none of my business, with Christmas and I having enough reasons as to why I wouldn't consider celebrating, mainly how it's a christian holiday wrapped under the guise of a pagan holiday), it seemed like we've really taken a nosedive.

But on the bright side, we have gotten some good games this year (albeit, console exclusive) like Spider-Man, Red Dead Redemption 2, Smash Ultimate, etc., with Spider-Man even going so far to have 3 DLC packs under its belt, though I can't say that they make the game complete in which, unfortunately, they don't.

And I'm not really ashamed to say it because these DLC packs feel more like extra missions than actual add-ons. And while each DLC plays a part of a whole, none of them feel complete enough to be on their own terms

Plus, I think what killed my motivation for playing video games this year was just trying to save more money for clothes than for games. And with the recent titles on steam coming out, nothing seems to look promising (and I say steam because I don't own any consoles, despite the fact that I mentioned about console-exclusive games being good, even though those were based on what I heard by popular acclaim). Searching through steam is now a nightmare because I have to weigh in my interests based on what I can afford and what genre suits me. I considered the Devil May Cry series, for example, but then I learned that I prefer taking my time and exploring certain areas. Neither of which are heavily favored in hack and slash games like Devil May Cry above, but favored in metroidvania games (which I'd like to see more of, but if I could only get my hands on a Symphony of the Night, Aria/Dawn of Sorrow, and Order of Ecclesia ROM without fearing that the feds would bust down my door in the process. Metroid Prime Trilogy, too.).

So I cut that out and realized that even though the Witcher franchise would seem like a good choice, I neither had the money nor time to completely invest myself in a potentially 100 GB size game (if you count the DLC at all, which adds up to 30-40 or so GB size to the 30 GB base game).

So what did I do for this year's sale? Well...I did take a look at the visual novel genre and decided to buy myself Clannad to test the waters. I don't really care about the other titles apart from House of Fata Morgana and Danganronpa, as well as the fact that I think the purpose of this genre and why steam jacks up the price for each game, even when they're discounted, is because of the cute girls doing cute things or whatever, not just for plot as many dweebs (not weebs as one would say for some reason). If I wanted a plot for a novel, I'd go and read a book.

So on top of the Clannad series, I also bought Planescape, Cave Story+, Ghost Recon 1, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic (aka Kicking simulator), and Hidden and Dangerous 2. So yeah, not the best wild bunch, but it's a bunch nonetheless. I also bought on GOG the Gothic trilogy because Steam mucked it all up, which caused this thread to be made in the first place, along with the first Risen, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, and Primordia.

However, I can't play any of these yet because my laptop is getting fixed at Best Buy...dinge and all that. So...yeah
