I enjoy RPGs most. I particularly like western RPGs such as Fallout, Baldur's Gate and The Elder Scrolls Series but I also like the Zelda games and the Secret of Mana is my favourite game ever. I don't like Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon or JRPGs of that type. I also love stealth games such as The Thief series and the Splinter Cell games but not Metal Gear Solid. I like most types of game except for sports games. Games such as Alpha Centauri and the Total War games are big favourites also.

Where the hell is the Turn-Based Strategy option?

That said, I tend towards RPGs overall(Avernum series, Deus Ex, Oblivion/Morrowind and their expansion packs, Arcanum, Fallout, ect) though turn-based strategy games come in a very close second(Alpha Centauri[damn near my all time favorite game], Civilization III/IV, Galatic Civilizations II).

I've also enjoyed a fair number of first/third person shooters(Half-Life series, Max Payne[which becomes quite the beat 'em up with the addition of the Kung Fu mod], Deus Ex[it's worth mentioning twice], GTA III, Postal 2).

You're also lacking a space/flight option(Freelancer, Freespace 2) as they're worth their own category.

The occasional racing game is often a good change of pace(Need for Speed : Underground was one of the funner ones).

Never been big on platformer games, but Psychonauts was one of the few games I regret not paying full release price for.

Outcast fills in for Action/Adventure, and offers significant compitition for all-time faveorite game.

And those are all the big ones I can think up off-hand.

I generally like RPGs, but there are some other unique genres of games that mix some of the genres together, or simply don't fit under any of them, and are usually quite rare but special. I like them usually.

Adventure and RPG games are definately better than any other type as you're not restricted in where you can go.

And for the record this is my 850th post. Only 150 to go until I reach 1000. When I do, I'll start a topic on it.

Tons of story and tons of bugs, so that means NWN, Arcanum and VtM: Bloodlines.
