I finished Muv Luv Alternative. I absolutely loved it. I am unsure if I would rate it higher than Steins;Gate for the best visual novel I've read, but in any case it was certainly right up there with it in quality. Not perfect though; it suffers from some of the same things that I think held Steins;Gate back, such as how it adheres a bit too much to genre conventions and panders a bit too much to the player. It also suffers from some of its own flaws, such as Hideo Kojima level writing where basically anything small that happens is fuel for a long discussion about the topic at hand, even in the middle of a crisis or firefight. But under those flaws is a thrilling science fiction epic that kept me on the edge of my seat with its constant twists, military engagements, political intrigue and character building.

I was playing Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on the N64 the other morning...wow, this might be my favorite Goemon game so far (no multiplayer though). The phrase "blown away" comes to mind.

It's too bad we didn't get more of these in English, but it's understandable. The series is FAR too Japanese for most Americans to understand, and if they localized it too much, it just wouldn't be Goemon anymore.

You did get a Vita and P4G then? It's such a perfect handheld game, Persona 5 is in dire need of a Switch port for that reason (I don't own a Switch but I would yesterday if P5 was on it!)

I just finished Nioh: Complete Edition on PC. 54 hours and 207 deaths on the way to the end of the final DLC (147 before the DLC) though do note that I didn't finish the final batch of sub missions, or a couple of the really BS ones before that.

Good game. I was wishing it to end throughout the DLC chapters, and given that I'm not particularly patient, it's a credit to the game that I made it through. I found it significantly more difficult than any Souls game outside of the difficulty extremes (ie. Orphan of Kos and the Ashes of Ariandel final boss), you have more tools and abilities but it's also way more likely that you will be murdered in one hit or chained to death despite holding the block button with stamina to spare... it's frustrating. The combat is pretty deep, the Ninja Gaiden influence is obvious, they did a good job. I think they could learn more about encounter design and world building from Miyazaki's games, though the sheer volume of levels in this game was probably too much to reasonably expect solid design; it's a LONG game.

Honestly though? I don't know if I'll ever replay this game, but I've played through all of Bloodborne several times in the year since I first bought a PS4 and played it. That says a lot.

I'm going to slowly continue my replay of Persona 5. On the third dungeon. I'll probably play Sonic Mania again, too. I'm looking forward to Dragon Ball FighterZ and maybe the Dark Souls re-release (realistically it's going to be a lazy cash grab, but it does make me want a Switch even more than I already did)

I just played through and finished To The Moon. I had been wanting to play it for a long time but only got around to it. Wonderful game, both humorous and poignant. I loved the aesthetic as well. I highly recommend it to everyone on this website who likes narrative based games.

More Persona 4 Golden! I'm on a quest to rescue Nanako and make Yoshitsune invincible. 8)

Almajo88: Yep. I got P3-PSP from the PN Store, and I'm trying to figure out how to download it onto my new memory card that I just got. Hopefully I'll figure it out.

Filling my Pokedex in Pokemon Ultra Sun.

Playing Sims 4 on my mom's laptop and waiting for my own to be fixed so I can go back to Sims 3 and have my old stuff back in Sims 4.

Playing Fire Emblem Heroes on my phone because at the moment don't have nothing else to do. Tried to play Bloodborne but the game is acting stupid! Played Fallout 4 but it got boring quickly because I was way too strong and pretty much nothing can kill me.

家有大貓 Nekojishi - Basically a gay furry dating sim. I don't really read much but I was bored last night and wanted to find a new free game to try out on Steam and came across it.

Liao, now able to see the various spirits and gods in the world, has to deal with his new found powers, his school life, and three particular cats who all want to have a say in his life and his future.

Nekojishi is a visual novel about the pressures and consequences of deciding your future in a world of gods and spirits, the position that religion and folklore take in modern society, and three feline beast-men that Liao can’t seem to get out of his room or out of his head!"

I'm enjoying the story so far that being, as stated about, about you as a young human man with three anthropomorphic feline gods. Quite reminiscent to my soulbonds and soulbonding life in a way. With the cat gods being non-physical beings/spirits that have been watching over you and the fact that you're the only mortal who can see and talk to them. I hope to play more of it when I have time!

Once I saw that someone commented of an 18+ version of the game on the main site, I obviously went to search and to download that one~

Minecraft.

I set a Woodland Mansion on fire just to watch it burn down.... it's taking a while. Longer than I expected.

Deus Ex. I forgot how good this game was.

I accidentally started over, but I'm not too far from where I left off.

BotW yesterday...spent a few hours carefully working my way through the final Master trial, only to get completely destroyed by two Lynels :(

Still Ultra Sun & Moon

they truly are the ultimate versions of Sun & Moon. I mean, I loved Sun & Moon, but these are even better IMO.

Been playing Bloodborne. I earlier did a play through the regular game, and have created another character to play through again with the DLC, with an arcane build the second time since I did not use any the first time.

Real story is some of the bosses I have been up against. I was really struggling against two bosses, one was Laurance, who is essentially a modified version of the first boss, which I have really never had too much of a problem against, but this guy was like running into a brick wall, where I could run out of stamina of healing items, but also one wrong move could mean death. The other was a rematch against a mid-game boss, Rom, in dungeons where he is usually easy, but is dang hard in a smaller arena. I did finally managed to beat Laurance by really putting my attention in looking for really looking for telegraphed moves in memorization while being more safe, it was really tough. Really good feeling from winning.

Straight afterwards I fought another boss that I had worked my way up to, with the Living Failures, where they were pretty tough, but with an NPC I managed to beat it first time with a few close calls. And straight after that was another boss, Maria, who has had a lot of building up, but despite having no aid, not knowing her moves beforehand, I actually managed to win the first time without I would say too much trouble, actually feeling like a good measured fight. Which is ridiculous, the previous bosses in this DLC were pretty crazy in how hard they were for me, but somehow I managed to zoom past these two like they were barely anything, maybe I simply got so in the zone on focusing on one, or that I am just better at certain fights.

Discouraged Workers

So far, it's been strictly reading. I've had no choices or actions after about an hour of play. Looks interesting, though.

After playing through To The Moon, I immediately picked up Finding Paradise and played through that. I was pleasantly surprised that the quality of writing was kept to the same high standard. As with the former title I also loved the presentation, with its frequent references and homages, and fantastic soundtrack.

I had picked up a few visual novels too, but dropped them. The Devil on G-String and Tomoyo After I found too full of stupid cliches, terrible pacing and plot contrivances and so they've both been uninstalled.

I am now playing through Umineko When They Cry. I am only a couple hours into the first part and so far I'm finding the writing to be of decent quality. It is early going yet but the characterisation so far has been quite good. Though no real major plot points have happened yet.
