Atari Greatist Hits Volume 1.

Finally an Atari collection that doesn't suck! The scaling algorithm is a little bit blurry, but other than that it's pretty nice. Also the title screen/menu music isn't very fitting, but you can mute it in the options. Really love the menu designs, even though some of the cart scans are from the text-only labels and not the later graphical ones (like Bowling), but that's probably just me being a nitpicker.

Though the older arcade-only collection for GBA (which this seems to gain inspiration from) was pretty nice too, this one can use the touch screen to simulate trackball and spinner controls.

Apparently I was working on a TAS of Sonic 1 Remastered a few moments ago. I'm also playing Sonic Unleashed (360) and Sonic Heroes (GCN).

Well, I was pleasantly surprised by Alpha Protocol - it is very like Vampire. Only played through once, so can't say for sure, but there seemed to be a lot of important decision points along the way so should make for an interesting second playthrough. Only real downside is an attack of Consolitis which means the menu interface is rubbish and there's one crappy minigame (the other two are tolerable) which appears to be designed primarily for thumb controller thingies. Oh, and a couple of silly scenes with vehicles as opponents; having to shoot people wearing body armour several times is one thing, having to shoot a helicopter half a dozen times in the face with a rocket launcher before it gets perturbed is a harder suspension of disbelief.

Anyway, sneaking about shooting people in the head with a silenced pistol and playing the suave Bond type was fun ("hey, it's okay, I know you're a civilian but I only fired six tranquiliser darts into your face, you'll be fiiiiine" ^^) so will try full on 'splodey s**t next. :)

Still playing Oblivion technically, even though I'm on The Shivering Isles (the expansion), I modded the crap out of it too...somewhat. It doesn't crash on exit anymore and I have some new body meshes, textures and all that fancy stuff I don't understand so much except they look good (does anyone think male underwear in Oblivion looks like anything besides complete s**t?)

Yeah I just finished Alpha Protocol on Hard with Recruit stats... it's really fun that way :D.

I'm guessing you're referring to the lock picking mini game when you say the thumb thing. Yeah that's the only thing I found to be almost unusable in AP... the rest of the game worked fairly well. With the lock picking I can break 3 tumblers but anything after that is just too tough and touchy. The mini games are harder on hard mode I've heard though so maybe they are easier on normal... anyway that's what EMP charges are for :D.

The truth about Alpha Protocol is it's a good game. The only people who complain about it when they play it are Mass Effect fans who want a damn clone... sorry it's not a shooter, nor does it have Shepard super powers to make the game a push over people . Also I have reason to believe that the game was negatively endorsed by a rival company with the money to do so. Kinda like how Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears always get awesome ratings while they aren't even remotely as good as their ratings suggest (Positively endorsed by themselves because those companies who make those games are flat out rich)... I noticed reviews were much too critical on the game not to mention I was highly offended that Game Stop (The store I buy games from) was advising almost everyone who tried to make a purchase to not buy it. I say if SEGA wanted to they could push a law suit, but whatever. Also I've noticed most people who say AP is bad have never touched the game... HAHA or only have a Wii :P

I'm actually offended by the negative light AP was given. In turn for people's stupidity... there will be no sequel. Alot of people who played the game seemed to want a sequel, but SEGA said that sales were too low for them to fund another attempt :x. Stupid society prevails again I guess

P.S. in AP you have to charge your shots and be proficient in the gun you're using to be very effective in a gun fight. AP is more of an rpg than a shooter even though it has guns :). I usually can take anything short of a boss down with a critically aimed head shot with my pistol :).

Anyway, I'm playing Star Ocean The Last Hope International right now (I've played and beaten it so I'm just passing time in a game I like until I get a new game or few :))... at least until Christmas :D.

Hehe, actually I had no trouble at all with the lockpicking, it's the hacking one where you have to find two sections of code and move pointers to both of them at the same time that gave me difficulty. Which just goes to show. :D

Shame to hear people are down on it, though.

Tried Greed Corp but was underwhelmed so far (and beaten by the machine very easily... while I like to think I'm clever in my own special snowflakey way, I'm not very good at logical games!), still, for a pound or whatever it was, who cares? Gonna give Fantasy Wars a go next, same deal. :)

That's interesting. A tip I found with computer hacking would be to only place one strand of code at a time per code change. Like that mini timer at the bottom... make sure you place one strand of code per each. I usually would look at the right side of the screen and try to match the right code first. I'd basically look for the set of code on the right and if it wasn't there I'd back out of the mini game. If it was there I'd match it and wait for that mini timer to end. Upon reset of the entire grid I'd move the left strand around frantically trying to find it's match. For that strand I look at the top bar timer because if that ends you trigger the alarm. So if you can match it in time do, and if you can't back out and repeat the process. It may take many attempts... maybe up to 10 or so but it should eventually work out. Also integrated circuitry as an upgrade in your armor makes the timer take longer making the mini game a bit less crazy :).

I think why the lock picking game might be hard for me is I was recently playing the game on PS3 and the triggers have more distance to travel to place the pin and the PS3 controller seems to be much more sensitive to pressure. I don't know, I don't remember it being as tough on xbox 360 to do the lock picking... either that or I just don't have a steady hand anymore. I'd end up letting off too much pressure and jamming the pin when I played recently on PS3 >_<. Also I don't know if it's just hard difficulty, but for locks you can't back out or you'll set off the alarm system just as if you failed the lock attempt. I don't know if that's just hard mode or if that's actually a game bug, but that's how I remember locks being on both consoles :?
