I have 2 chars, one is an orc battlemage, the other is a nord custom class I called a "Troubler" because "Trouble Maker" is too long to fit. I admit I cheat by using the console, mods, etc. I want to play the main quest ONLY w/ the anti-main quest mod eventually.

Man I have to say I love the elder scrolls sires. I've played a tidbit of 1 and 2, and quite a bit of 3 and 4. To be perfectly honest I believe they all have flaws and strengths that I believe that if a new elder scrolls was made that encompassed all the strengths and augmented the weaknesses it could quite possibly be the best fantasy rpg of all time.

Morrowind was pretty awesome, even without mods. They really captured the feel of another world, and I never knew what I might find there. Mods just made it completely epic (Vampire Embrace, anyone?). Oblivion was better on a technical level (its physics, for one thing), but I didn't care for the plot, and the world seemed less interesting to me compared to that of Morrowind. However, with mods Oblivion did begin to come into its own, though not to the extent that Morrowind had.

Of the Bethesda RPGs I've played, I'd rank them thus:

1) TES III: Morrowind
2) Fallout 3
3) TES IV: Oblivion

I loved morrowind and Oblivion. I've seen almost everything in Oblivion but there are still things to do in Morrowind. Morrowind was more and bigger than Oblivion.

I liked Morrowind and is one of my favorite games and oblivion was fun for awhile. Pretty much anything made by Bethesada is top quality in comparison to most games. Which is to say that the elderscrolls is my favorite RPG series.

I love Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I love the open worldness too. I will never get tired of the game. My favorite race so far is the Kajiit (sp?). I love to either play Mage or Thief.

I've played Morrowind a lot in the past, but on my new laptop it somehow looks odd, due to the screen being a different format from what the game expects it to be. I just don't like the black bars on the screens sides...

At the moment I'm playing Oblivion with two characters, both of them magic-enhanced bowgirls. The difference is that one of them may do whatever crap I feel like doing at the moment and the other has to stick to a rather strict set of rules as to what she can or can not do.

I've also tried my hand at modding, but I'm just plain too lazy to learn how to make something that's good enough to share with other people. I have so far focused on removing the lots of annoying typos in the German version so I can play the game without getting worked up about two totally different plants yielding two different ingredients but having the same name.
Recently I have moved on to implementing some new textures developed by other people to make my game look prettier.

For me, that is the best thing about The Elder Scrolls series: the freedom to do with it whatever you like. Don't like what the game looks like? Go ahead and mod it. Don't feel like doing the main quest? Okay, just find yourself something else to do. That's what makes those games so much fun for me.

Personally, I enjoyed Morrowind more. The setting, the tons of different equipment, the way enemies got placed in the world, even the fact that the combat system sometimes made you miss - all that was better in my opinion.
But I'm still playing Oblivion at the moment, because I am lazy about gaming and just like raiding dungeons for some nice skill increases.

That might change again though and I might re-install Morrowind on my system next week for all I know. :D

Didn't really like Oblivion that much. Really liked Morrowind, though. One of the scariest things I've ever played.

I just started the Thieves' guild. Again, why am I the only one who likes Oblivion better than Morrowind? It seems nobody else really cares for Oblivion and they only liked Morrowind.

I have both Morrowind and Oblivion, I'm a big Morrowind fan! I like Oblvion for the the Dark Brotherhood guild (*stab stab*) but I liked Morrowind for the storyline (go house Telvanni!). Both are very opened ended which isn't a bad thing, especially if you are looking to waste alot of time. Morrowind is a bit bigger than Oblivion and it has a good atmosphere. There also mods for Morrowind to make the game have better graphics too
